I get other teams interest in Fowler. He can skate, he can dish the puck and hit the tape of his forwards, (unlike a lot of Ducks defensemen this year. ) , he's very good a QBing the power play and the best reason is he's signed to a great contract for this year and three more. These are also the reasons Cam won't be traded, unless it's a blockbuster type of deal. Since he was linked to Pittsburgh I think it would be Crosby or Malkin for Fowler. And before you start, I know this isn't going to happen, but neither is Ek's rumor either.
Some other Ducks fan suggested that Lindholm might be traded. This is even MORE laughable than Ek's rumor! If Murray moves any of his young defensemen it'll probably be Vatanen. Only because they have his replacement damn near ready to go in San Diego, Shea Theodore.
As an aside, the Ducks are DFL in the West and by the time they play again they might be DFL in the League. What the F*CK HAPPENED TO THESE GUYS!?!?! - duxcup07
If you read my post, I said I was "going out on a limb" with the Lindholm trade hypothesis. BM said one of his priorities was to sign Lindholm to an extension PRIOR to this season. It didn't happen. "Rumor" is contract talks not going well, but as an RFA, Lindholm has no real leverage. Also, to correct your post, Fowler is signed for TWO more years after this year, not three. I could also see Vatanen traded, but he's third on the team in scoring, and for a team struggling on the offensive end, trading Vats may not make sense. He's a little bulldog on the ice, and his stock has risen this year.
Ducks need to sign Rakell, Lindholm, and Vatanen as all are RFA. Fowler and Vats have taken a step forward this year. Lindholm a step back. Rakell is a C playing wing, and seems to fit with Getz and Perry. While I'm not predicting it, I still maintain I wouldn't be stunned if Lindholm got moved. Especially if contract talks stall. As a PMD, Theodore could also replace Lindholm. Key word, "could". |

So, I'm guessing Anaheim doesn't trade Fowler or anyone to the Pens. |

5th overall pick =/= 1st overall pick.
MDC getting cut from the Canadian WJ team has nothing to do with whether Yak is the biggest bust of a 1st overall pick in quite some time. - Snowblind
Thanks for letting me know. Because clearly I was trying to make the case that a 1st overall pick = a 5th overall pick...
Rather, MDC on track to become the biggest bust of any top 5 pick since Pavel Brendl (1999) has everything to do with why idiot Isles fans should shut their mouths about the Yakupov draft choice. |

Islanders fans....kinda make me want to auction off my signed Trottier Jersey on e-bay.
Just kidding, some of those are all right. |

Very true.
What does Rutherford think of Bonino? He was one of those guys who did a lot of little things really well when he was with Anaheim and it's one of the many things missing with the Ducks this year. How about Vatanen for Bonino? The Ducks get a center who's familiar with them and the Pens get Sergei Gonchar junior. |

The 3g 3a Bonino? You really want to give up our top scoring D for that? And you thought my "out on a limb" prediction of moving Lindholm was crazy. |

If a deal goes down, I think it will be more about the return each side will be getting. Fowler will provide a greater return for Anaheim, a package with Hornqvist and Bonino would be interesting. I could see Hornqvist playing with either the 1st or 2nd units in Anaheim, he's a big body like Maroon but has the skill to be a top 6 F. And secondary scoring from players like Bonino is something the Ducks are certainly missing.
Maybe Anaheim could include Silfverberg.
Glad to see Khudobin has been sent to waivers, I personally thought signing him was a waste. A strong Gibson/Andersen tandem can help this team get back on track if the offense can get going. |

DiPietro (1st overall) and Raffi Torres (5th overall) in 2000 was a challenge to pass. |

With three goals Nick Bonino would be a scoring machine on the Ducks.
While I would love to have Bonino back I am a firm believer in never trading defense for offense. Besides, I was just having some fun with a Pens fan.
And yes, trading Lindholm is crazy. He's going to be incredible sooner than later. |
