Full marks to the Oil for their cup wins...4 grueling rounds.

Laffs not so much...

- LordHumungous

Leafs won when there was 6 teams and control on drafting rights. There was no Europeans in the league. Vancouver was winnig championships out West.

Both teams are pathetic losers.

This argument of how many cups is dumb . Neither have won since it has become a big boys league.

This argument is like saying my syphilis is better than your gonorrhoea .

Both teams suck and there should be absolutely no bragging by anyone at all.

Gonna have to help you out here....BJ was responding to a Leafs fan who claimed the Canucks have a history of drooling over Leaf cast offs....he stated that UFA Sundin was one and countered with a rather large list of former Canucks that played with the Leafs later on.

Jero - Poopstash is not a Leafs fan and he started all of this.

He is a troll, and a damn good one at that!

If you think you are getting more than a third rounder or B prospect , then you are sadly mistaken and Canucks would find something else .

I think Canucks will finish bottom 10 this year so you can rule out their first second or third round pick. We do have an extra third round pick this year .

Schenn would be stupid to re-sign with Flyers after so many healthy scratches, and will be a UFA in a couple of months .

Reset expectations

- VANTEL

I don't think he's going to Vancouver. He's in the last year before UFA, so why would Vancouver want him (unless they turn it around big time)?

A RHD to do what? Move them from 261st to 19th? Luke Schenn is, at best, a complimentary piece, not a game changer. If you're a true contending team and want to shore up your defense, esp. with a RH, then Schenn would make sense.

That is what Canucks are looking for a bottom pairing RHD with a little grit. That is why the return would be minimal . No one one here said he was top 4

lol I guess. Habs won many cup with the 6 team league and drafting rights as well. At least they won in 86 and 93 in the 'big boy era'.

he is a solid 3rd pairing guy when the top two pairings areactually good. For example put him on Chicago and he would look real good. On Philly he is nothing special most nights. He gives top effort and looks after teammates. He will be valuable for someone in the playoff hunt.

Wait till he starts on the Stamkos to Toronto rumours!!!
- landros 2

Stamkos started those rumours himself when he "accidentally" liked tweets a few times over the past year and a half.

wow at least someone understands hockey. The poor kid was thrown in the wolves at 18 by us (Leafs) . we ruined his career. He could've been a top 4 shut down guy by now if we just let him develop. But you hit the nail on the head. Luke would be a 3rd pairing guy on a team like Chicago and he'd be solid.

This goes for anytime a Leaf fan comments on how ANY other team in the league is doing.

Being from the US, I find internet bashing amongst fans of Canadian teams mystifying. Toronto fans hate everyone and are hated by everyone. Same for Vancouver fans. Montreal fans are okay unless their team does well, and then they're insufferably pompous to TML levels. Calgary and Edmonton fans seem to actually get along. Ottawa and Montreal seem to have some sort of deep-rooted hatred, and no one cares about Winnipeg.

It's actually a very interesting, if annoying and predictable, dynamic.

I think you're mostly right - although there is a deep seated hatred between Oilers and Flames fans, I guess we just don't see it here on the boards that much.

A good bunch of Leafs fans are also ridiculously delusional. Montreal fans can be downright ridiculous - for instance the game against the Sens on Saturday night it was 3-0 halfway through the 2nd and some fans at the Bell Centre were already starting the "Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole" chant - I love watching when they do that and it blows up in their faces.

Some Canuck fans are still ego riding the Finals appearance from 2010. Although the way they lost it I almost equate it to Leafs fans bragging that they made the playoffs in the lockout season when they lost the way they did.

Sens fans seem pretty okay these days, like Winnipeg I just don't see a lot of them out there.

I know there's the "Battle of Alberta." However, on here at least, it's more good-natured ribbing. And the only person I know personally from Alberta said that it's much more of a media thing than a fan thing.

On these threads most of the two fans bases get along, there's 3 or 4 severe idiots on the Flames side and an unlimited amount of dummies on our threads, but the banter is usually fun.
