Next year we are a playoff team with continued improvement and tweaking this year. 2 years after that we are an actual cup contender.

I'm one of the older fans on here...
I'm ok with no playoffs this year in year 1 of the Rebuild.
2016-17 is when I expect the playoffs, after a strong draft and an FA or 2 this offseason.
The following year I expect a Conference Final as some in the pipeline come online.
From there, I hope the Sabres can break the curse for this city within the following 3 years.

The Bills on the other hand are built to win now or next 2 years...more pressure on Whaley to fill the holes without breaking the bank...and that is going to be exceedingly difficult.

I think the frustration on the board about our record and how far away it seems that we are from being a contender is mostly being put on Murray's head but is really just the result of a 2 season tank. I had two fears about going full tank last year. One was that we'd finish better than 30 and miss out on a top 2. The second was our fans would expect an immediate improvement to 85+ points.

The last thing anyone wants to hear is to be patient after such horrible seasons. Murray could aquire Benn and Doughty tomorrow and we'd still struggle with consistency

That, and the fact that some of our competitors, I.e. Younger teams like Edmonton, Arizonia, Calgary, and others have looked better than us when we have faced them...So when we have competed and lost against them, it causes the fan base to wonder about the strength of the rebuild.
I get it ... But remain hopeful our time is coming... In other words, so far so good!
