That's true. He is playing against some 3rd and 4th lines, as well as some third defense pairings, but Voracek's mindset is to pass the puck first, he's not a sniper. I'd put him back with Giroux and leave him there the rest of the season. He will start producing.
- PLindbergh31

Maybe that's part of the mindset behind this, that he's reverted to more of a pass first player than he was last year. If there's one way to force a guy to shoot, it's to put him on a line where he must do the finishing.

That said, I'm not cool with this burying Jake tactic either.

He's gotta shoot it on the net to do so. He's always pass first. I wish he took Jagr's advice last season. Just shoot the puck more
- arichardson22

G needs to take him aside and tell him what he told Ghost. Oh wait Jake will then take 15 shots and not hit the net once

You know, I have never ever had this issue. I can use Firefox or IE and have never had a quoting issue (unless someone breaks the page). You guys are all full of it.
- jmatchett383

I use Chrome and have never had this issue either. Maybe these guys are all using Opera or something.

Holy crap I didn't realize the Stars were 21-5-2. That is bananas.
Some turn around. They missed the playoffs last year didn't they?

I don't see what's so crazy. Ever since the switch the flyers have been a better team. If Hak starts worrying about players personal success over the team's best interest, he won't last long in this league
- Just5

what is crazy is the goal drought he is in. And while the team is playing better, really thanks to G and the 2nd line, Its still vital for the long term success to get Voracek going.

I think Hakstol's thinking is to try and create a more balanced lineup. But it's a flawed roster as we know, so there are going to be holes. The team is playing pretty solid hockey right now, I guess I should just enjoy it instead of worrying about Voracek's lack of production.

Definitely not arguing that. Most of this is on Voracek the individual. I just don't feel he's in the best position to succeed right now and he doesn't necessarily have to be put back with Giroux to do that.
- TobyFlenderson

Well, I can agree with you on that. And I do think Voracek needs to be back on the top line. I just wish he would show some gumption and make Hak's decision for him.

Yep, I'm with you. Tonight would be a perfect night to do so. Bust out against the best team in the league in the second game of a back to back.

Yes, and coach has the luxury this season of trying different things. They're not going to make the playoffs no matter what so if a change doesn't get him going after a few games, oh well, try something else for a few games.

I thought that Laughton line played well last night. Schenn had a strong game. I think now is a great time to put Voracek with Schenn and Giroux.

Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
Read - Couturier - Simmonds
Raffl - Bellemare - Vandevelde
White - Laughton - Umberger

This way you can use the Bellemare line as a more defensive unit.

Playoff is still a possibility. The run for wildcards is far from over

That's where I'm at. On one hand, it's a long season, and there's plenty of time for Jake to get going. On the other hand, this has already gone on quite a while. It is what it is.

He seems to be doing great at RW... opens up so many options for him... why mess with that?

I didn't see the game last night as I had one of my own. I think those lines are certainly worth a try. Give 'em a whirl, see what happens.

Because I need my 8 million dollar winger to get going.

I am ok if you want to keep Schenn on the RW. I just want to get Voracek more skilled players.

Raffl - Giroux - Schenn
Read - Couturier - Simmonds
Laughton - Bellemare - Voracek
Vandevelde - White - Umberger.

Laughton at least has some skills to play with voracek. I am so tired of seeing Vandevelde out there. I am fine if he is a 4th line grinder.

Can't argue with that.

Laughton and Voracek need to be a thing.
