Allow me to correct you as usual, Dumoulin wasn't a top 4 defenseman this summer, he's only now a quarter of the season in starting to show glimpses of being top 4 capable and is still borderline top 4 on a team that has a decent defensive corp. - jaydogg1974
Please don't "correct" me you are no expert. In the summer I knew Dumoulin had top 4 potential, top 2 even if he got his chance. And he's only going to get better and better. Lets agree to not agree bevause I don't agree with anything you say and go our separate ways. |

The problem is that fans are not viewing the situation the same way management is viewing the situation, picks and prospects mean a lot to the fans because they are future hope and shiny new toys, this current management group won't be hereto see any of those picks or prospects benefit the team so they have no benefit to them. If GMJR and ownership thought that moving Sprong, Dumoulin and every 1st round pick until 2055 would increase their chances of winning the Cup this year they would all be gone in a second. GMJR could care less about the disaster he's leaving for the next GM that comes in and Mario/Burkle don't give two shytes about the team they are leaving for the new owners if the Cup gets them a higher selling price. As far as all involved are concerned, the future is now and nothing after this season matters as long as this season gets them where they want to be. - jaydogg1974
How the F do you know?? You sit in on their meetings?? You get calls from Rutherford himself where he exposes his every thought???? You know f^ck all just like the rest of us. Quit pontificating like you are some kind of expert. |

There is no reason to believe Johnston can maximize the talent on this roster even if we gave him more toys. He's time and time again shown that he is a poor dession maker. He didn't have to keep Cole and Letang together for all those games, he doesn't have to play Scuderi night in and night out, he didn't have to keep Dupuis on the top line for that long, and he didn't have to keep the PP separated for that long/try it at all. Coach Farce needs to go. OEL/Shattenkirk/Barrie won't fix the fact that we have a bad coach. - Victoro311
I guess being 1 of the most dominant teams in the league for 2 months last season with the proper pieces isn't allowed to be reason to believe it can be that way again if GMJR gets the roster constructed properly again? I'm by no means defending HCMJ, well I guess to an extent I am, he's made mistakes for sure but he hasn't been given the best hand to play by GMJR. It's been very apparent to those astute enough to know the team was never going to be successful with the defensive corp they've been saddled with and I pointed that out the day the Kessel trade was made. Sure a new coach may change things and make things more exciting but the overall results will be the same until the roster issues are corrected and I think it makes no sense to wait to fire the coach to correct the roster mistakes when correcting those mistakes may make replacing the coach unnecessary.

Well, Jay... Thanks for bringing your own brand of "doucheyness" to this board too. I guess bashing everybody on TIOPS got boring?
It must be tough keeping up with correcting everybody in Pittsburgh that has a differing opinion than yours......although I'm 100% certain you will try. - madmike71

What are you talking about?!?! Rutherford has given Johnston a much better roster than Shero ever gave Bylsma. It's Johnston that makes personnel choices. Johsnton insists on trotting Scuderi out every game who is useless to his system. Johnston is the one that put Dupuis on the first line for 10 games when it was obvious after 1 that he couldn't play there. And multiple other examples. Johnston ]is running this defensive mickey mouse system as well. Jaydog what kind of name is that anywyas? Probably a 45 year old wigger with the brim of his NY cap sticking out to the side. |

So it exceptable for you to pontificate on the future of players like Murray, Pouliot, Sprong and unknown 1st round picks but it's not exceptable for me to pontificate on the reports that every prospect including Sprong & Pouliot are available and the reasons why they would be available? You really are like a 2 year, my ball is the best ball in the world because it's mine and if you don't agree I'm taking my ball and going home so you can't play with it. People who live in glass house shouldn't throw stones.

Wow I should have learned by now not to try to debate hockey with people that don't understand the game and aren't mature enough to have an adult conversation but I guess I'm a gluten for punishment so I'll correct you 1 more time and hope it sticks.
GMJR hasn't given MJ a better roster than RS ever gave DB, he may not have even given him a better roster than he had last season, a roster consists of 20 players, there's no denying GMJR gave HCMJ the most offensive depth this franchise has had in many years but he also saddled him with one of the worst defensive corps it the franchise has had in many years and GMJR has basically admitted that from day 1 by admitting that they were taking a chance with the D corp and acknowledging from day 1 that the defensive corp needed upgraded. GMJR gave his coach and incompletely roster by selling out on the excitement of the flashy trade and deserves as much if not more blame for the current issues as the coach does. |

Who am I bashing? I simply asked you a question about your preference of firing the coach before making the necessary improvements to the roster instead of making the necessary adjustments first and then firing the coach is that doesn't improve things? It really isn't my problem that you can't have an adult conversation with someone that doesn't agree with your opinion.

There's tons of better places in both Philly and South NJ, but those 2 are the best known. Jim's would be 3rd. |
