We've beaten Chicago twice, Pittsburgh and the Rangers. We've lost to Columbus twice, Colorado, Edmonton and Calgary. You're getting two points tonight like it or not.
- smellmyfinger

I don't know, most of our wins and 'close wins' come against top teams like Dallas, St Louis, Washington, etc...

Lots of crappy hockey left to be played tonight.

He's right though, I've noticed the same thing for years, Dion will not lay down to block a shot.

Neither does doughty, suter, subban, karlsson, weber.
You don't pay your top dmen to lay down in front of shots.
You pay them to clear the zone and transition to offense quickly. Usually with active stick work, some work on the boards, and clearing the front of the net.

Other side. You also don't pay your top forwards to bang in the garbage goals or crowd the crease.
Toews, Kane, stamkos, ovechkin etc make their living at the side of the net or in the slot.
You pay a grinder to screen the goalie, tip in a shot, or bang in the rebound.
