He will be back but this time it is on a shorter leash. I don't think they will give the rest of the year to figure things out this time around.

If Reimer is hurt he will play

they wont get away with another conditioning stint..

and there is still enough interest in him that they would lose him for nothing if they did a straight up demotion.

he will be the goalie that he can be when he i back anyways.. he just needed to get in there and stop some pucks post "head shake"

the demotion was the head shake.. and now he's stopping pucks

If Reimer is hurt, Sparks will keep the net.

I don't agree on this one.

He's a sieve right now, and he wasn't exactly a great goalie last year, either.

Why would any team want him at $4.15 X 2 years?

then why the conditioning stint and not just a demotion?

they have feelers around the league.. there is interest.. but no interest of value (i'll give you a 6th rounder for him type thing)

so if he could be had for free? yeah... he would get snagged up

4mill is nothing.... maybe to a couple teams but otherwise.. nope.. not in todays NHL.. its small

if Bernier continues to play well for the marlies he will be given the start.. there is a methodology here and they arent going to (frank) it up by sitting him in favour of a rookie when he gets back up

He's got to stop letting in shot from center. It's got to be a mental thing....

this is so blown out of proportion

every goalie gives up a long distance goal here and there

they happen to be in markets that arent as obsessed as toronto tho

I'm guessing the Leafs don't want to lose him at this point.

Why lose him on waivers (and I'm assuming the Leafs don't want to do that - at least not at this time) when you can put him down there for a conditioning stint?

For the love of the hockey gods then, Reimer better not still be injured.
If what you are guessing is true, but i don't think Babcock will pull a hot Sparks in favor of a useless Bernier.

The number of soft goals let in by Bernier this year is not just media hype.

Effing guy has a save % of .888 right now.

I hate Simmons and Mirtle as much as the next guy, but they can't be blamed for this.

Bernier has been putrid this year. Especially at the start of games.

Oh I don't know Bruce, I think the interest is very very minimal if that. He will get his starts but they won't stick with him if he craps the bed this time around.

So here's a fun game:

http://www.slate.com/arti..._in_shootings_around.html

Type in any US address, and this will tell you how many shootings (fatal and non-fatal) there have been in your neighbourhood in the past year.

Here's what is says about my old address in Boston (and I lived in a nice part of town):

There have been 6 shootings within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 1 fatal and 5 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 0.16 miles away.

Exactly. Everybody knows the only way to prevent unnecessary shootings is more guns.

Yeah, but he wasn't doing it here and there it was regular.

Now if he can find his game again great, but it's a bit of a stretch to say its over blown when he was one of the worst goalies in the league statistically. He lost his net for a reason, he was sent to the minors for a reason.

I'm tired of these passive, reactionary solutions.

Why even let criminals shoot first before you shoot them?

Armed civilians need to start shooting first. That way, only the bad guys get hurt.

You know how sometimes you look at a guy, and you just know that he's probably a mass murderer?

Quit letting him mass murder people!

Shoot him first!

There is no doubt that he's in deep doo doo if he doesn't take the reigns when he has a chance. Clearly Babcock frustrated.

Now watch Bernier come back and steal games while Reimer can't seem to get it back after the reoccurring injury.

Stranger things have happened, especially with this team.

Those 300 obviously didn't have guns, or were in need of bigger/stronger/faster guns.
