Oh yeah. I know it's possible. I just have the weird nagging faint feeling in my head, that as Leafs fans, things can go south quickly.
For the life of me I can't pinpoint as to why I have that feeling - walshyleafsfan
oh it will.
Leaf luck:
He'll sign and A) never live up to hype B) be injured all the time C) will be great, but will have no supporting cast.....D) just not sign. |

It is still a long shot, better to think about Marner and Nylander with the Leafs next year as sure bets. - LeafMan
Nylander for sure.
Marner maybe the marlies? |

Bozak with another very good game last night, does not deserve the crap he gets around here.
Phaneuf at times has been pretty good but dear lord, he can't get to the puck to make a pass out of his zone, he looks around to Gardiner to get it and he promptly passes it into someones skates.
Going back to my old L4L site 3 years ago, I wrote about Sparks and said he is going to make it with the Leafs, so far so good. - LeafMan
no way.. i will never relent when it comes to bozak!! he's just too much fun to pick apart
phaneuf has been better.. and its nice to see he has proven to be a good (not great, but good) d-man under a coach that can adequately assess a players usefulness.
you have always been high on Sparks.. I can vouche for that for sure.. but I do think Bernier eventually steals back the starter job. Most talented goalie in the leafs organization.. his head just needed to be un-(frank)ed up.. this conditioning stint is proving to be doing just that. like hitting the reset button. |

No, OHL or the Leafs.
It will be the Leafs. |
|
|
|
What do you do with Bernier?
I think they move Reimer first. - zazzle
To Arizona for a 2nd rounder.
He should have a nice rest of his NHL career there. |

Just saw the Dave Poulin bit on Kadri.. its official Kadri was padding his corsi stats - senstroll
I can't stream it at work. I just saw comments on the gist of it.
Do you think there is something to it or is Poulin off base?
Related note...
I mentioned a while ago that Randy Robles from Elias Sports bureau felt that today's Advanced Stats were pretty useless (this was over a year ago). He also went on to say that they might even prove damaging to the game. I believe (can't remember for sure) that his point was the same thing mentioned here with Kadri.
As long as shots on/toward the goal is called "possession" or "driving possession", it's a potential problem. It could encourage exactly the opposite of retaining possession. |

Oh Sparks is going back to the Marlies unless Reimer is injured still but he has proven he can play, he never quits on a play, that save on Stempniak was outstanding in the shootout. |

You realize that Samsonov and Vasilevskiy are both 1st round picks as well right?
And Gibson 2nd rounder.
Leafs can't wait to have a starting goalie 5y from now, so it would make complete sense to switch a non top10 1st rounder 2016 for a 1st round pick earlier years (knowing which guy you would be getting and how he has developed after being drafted). - MaximusAurelius
They used the Leafs pick to get him and the Leafs got Biggs. |

It's possible that Stamkos wants to play for the Leafs.
The same way Suter and Parise wanted to play for the Wild. - Pecafan Fan
It is possible. I would even say it is likely.
I just think that is still a LONG way from saying it is going to happen. I am not even sure how the Leafs feel about signing him to an enormous contract IF he hits UFA status.

I'm still waiting for a valid explanation as to why shot attempts are a better metric for possession than O-Zone time.

He'll be 19 next year. CHL or NHL are the only options. |

while he has shown to have outgrown the OHL he has still yet to prove if he can play against men.
I think the brass will approach next camp with an open mind, but if he isnt physically ready yet and gets repeatedly bumped off the puck, i bet you see him as an over ager in the OHL next year |

The thing about these Stamkos is going to Toronto posters, is that if/when Stamkos doesn't come to Toronto, the rest of us will hear about it for the next few years. The two or three saying this stuff will bugger off and leave us to mop up the poop. - walshyleafsfan
Yeah, but all the "Dream On Leaf Fans, Babcock will never coach the Leafs" are nowhere to be found now. |
