The only top 5 pick they've had is Okafor and he definitely looks like a guy who could make future all star games. Embiid is the other, but he hasnt played. They've had 1 top 5 pick play and he looks good after 20 games, but this whole thing has been a mistake!!!! If only we signed Jameer Nelson and Elton Brand everything would be just fine!!!

Jameer Nelson is my favorite player of this decade.

For the Bulls, you could just put "Jordan" and that would be enough. Adding "Pippen" is overkill.

Vinny Lecavalier would like to know what Ron Hextall’s update is too, because he’s not hurt and not retiring early: http://on.cpsj.com/1QdzQpi

You should go back and look at Butler and Leonards numbers during their first couple seasons. They didn't just break in and light the world on fire. The only players who do that are HOFers
- PhillySportsGuy

Your missing the point. Those are the type of guys that I would want the sixers to find. A guy who might not be the highly regarded but has a high ceiling if it hits. Not just waiting around for top 5 picks every year. Almost any stooge can just pick the highest rated guys. You have to find talent. I know you think Covington and Grant are those guys. I don't.

I find it hard to believe that Dave Isaac and Vinny Lecavalier have exchanged personal information to that extent.

I understand that. But how many of those players were drafted in the top 5? Use the Warriors for examples.

Which player did they tank for? Which player did they draft in the top 5?

- J35Bacher

Listen, I am not saying the only way to get a player like that is to tank, but it sure helps the odd of landing that type of player.

Lets do it this way.. Of the guys I listed (30):
8 were 1st overall
4 were 2nd overall

24 were picked in the top 10- So that list shows that even those guys were majority top 10 picks.

There were some outliers as well. Ben Wallace was undrafted, Rodman went 27th, Laimbeer was 65th, and Maxwell (who I just threw in for the hell of it) was 47th.

What about Lindsey Vohn? And American hero Bodie Miller? Also, all of the best skiers are Norweigan. You're either a skier or you join a black metal band if you live in Norway, those are the only 2 occupations.

Instead of showing where certain players were drafted, I'd be more impressed with seeing what % of players picked in the top-5 went on to be good/great players. I'm curious how many Shawn Braldey's there are for every Allen Iverson.

Grant and Covington are the definition of what you're saying. Just because neither develops into top 20 players doesn't mean the Sixers didn't take a shot.

True, white guys are all superstars, that's a given. Hell, Shawn Bradley was good enough to make the cast of Space Jam.

PSG's point was that those are near impossible to find. It's like drafting Datsyuk -- you can't just go in and find that type of player late in drafts. Drafting high potential sleeper guys is a thing -- it working out where you nab a star is incredibly fortunate and a rarity. So I wonder what Hinkie will do with the entire second round of picks he has for the next decade....maybe up his chances to find a key player late? Nahhhh
