The middle 2 were me and Scoob joking around. GIG got all "butthurt" (I hear that's what the kids say) when I said I didn't agree with Lennon's vision of a utopia.

Sorry it's ruined your day.

rather have maclin i'm still glad djax is gone from the eagles

That's fine. I just believe that he's a better wide receiver than anyone on the team and could help them win football games. Yes, he makes ridiculously stupid plays at times (i.e. spiking the ball at the 2 yard line vs. Dallas) but he's also a dynamic player who makes more good plays than bad.

and that was a follow up to a previous post...bottom line is this they will have plenty of money to spend. doesn't mean or is implied it will work out that way. or that it will be easy.

there are always players available in free agency. again I said if it is only about $$ sixers have an advantage.

- rinaldo

The sixers will not be the only team with money, nor do they have an actual advantage to signing guys due to max contracts

I wonder when contracts are up like Noel or Okafor will they actually want to stay here after all the losing.

What FA will want to come here?

I think they put themselves in a tough spot.

Crazy stat of the day. Only 9 different teams have won a NBA championship since the Sixers in '83.

Detroit, Chicago, Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Cavs, GS, Dallas and Spurs.

The only basketball related move he's made that hasn't worked out is taking Okafor over Porzingas. I would have taken Okafor too, but I don't have all day to watch workouts and travel to Latvia.

- PhillySportsGuy

When are we actually going to see the results from all these moves that he's made that have worked out?

I wonder if Okafor will be dead/in jail when his deal is set to expire. So far, not looking too good. I understand he's a young man who's led a rough life who suddenly has more cash than he knows what to do with, but at some point, you have to have some sense of good judgement.

I even wonder if the sixers will stay in Philadelphia. Once they destroy the rivershark stadium they could build a facility there. Also with him owning the Devils they could possibly move there once the lease is up.

This ownership group is weird as I don't think they are long for it.

I have no problem with the Beatles or with Lennon, in general. He was a great musician and it's a shame he was murdered. I just don't agree with his utopian vision at all, and think that song is extremely overrated.

My gut tells me that big Jah wasn't thrilled going there in the first place.

I also blame the Sixers a little. Look at the Bucks. They signed a great vet in Garnett so that Karl Anthony Towns had someone to mentor and kind of lead him in his first season. Help him be a pro. Kind of like Briere with Giroux and Couturier.

The sixers don't have that so these kids are on their own in a way.

He needs a babysitter. The Sixers have no vets who can provide mentoring.

I can't see any group building a stadium exclusively for the Sixers unless they become a much better team, and soon, in which case there's no reason to move.

Noel is under team control for this year and 2 more. He seems to like it here and I imagine the team will begin taking shape by then.

Okafor is under team control for this year and 4 more years. I don't think he and Noel will both be here in the future. I lean more towards trading Okafor.
