When did I say that? Didn't I just say he caught one last night? I believe that counts as a player catching a touchdown.

But hate on, hate monger.

who cares if djax caught a touchdown pass his stupid play continues

Sorry I don't get down with a world where everyone just wants to sit around telling each other how much they love each other. The world we live in is far from perfect, but there's a happy medium somewhere.
- jmatchett383

man, can't you just let the guy memorialize his favorite musicker without pooping all over it for two pages?

Okay. The turn around, 15-yard loss/fumble was stupid and poor ball management. But he the skill to atone for it by catching a touchdown. He does stupid things both on and off the field, but is a much better on-field receiver than anyone the Eagles have had since he left.

Specific to basketball is that 1 all star makes you contender, and 2 all stars make you the front-runner. In hockey, that makes you a likely playoff team.

If it was all about money, and the Sixers have one of the lowest payrolls in the league, why haven't they gone out and gotten these easily-obtainable free agent all stars you speak of to help lead this young team?

- jmatchett383

where did I say they were easy to obtain? please show that quote. never said any such thing or implied it.
1 all star doesn't make you a contender by any means.

they haven't pursued any high end free agents yet . not part of the plan at this time.
just like hextal has a plan right?

Crazy stat of the day. Only 9 different teams have won a NBA championship since the Sixers in '83.

Detroit, Chicago, Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Cavs, GS, Dallas and Spurs.

Did you use the term "easy?" No. Did you imply that it would be easy because they have money to throw around? Yes.

I agree. Some people seem to think that these guys are easy to sign, though, as long as you have money.

You'd imagine that one (or more) of those impending RFA's would be part of the deal, and TB would welcome Brassard or Zuccarello to ease the cap burden for the Rangers.

- Tomahawk

I could definitely see the Rangers making a play for Stamkos. Would be funny to see Tampa owning 4 years worth of Rangers 1st round picks.

nope try again. never implied anything. just stated facts. if it comes down to only money the sixers have it. thats not implying it will be easy at all

Your exact quote was:

"I think they are better poised to turn it around despite their sad sack record the last few years....doesn't mean they will and they could flounder for years still. just looking at the "assets" it is very appealing. they can go out and get guys via free agency to turn it around.the flyers cant imo."

Where in there did you say anything about it "comes down to only money?" Again, "they can go out and get guys via free agency to turn it around." Well, wouldn't that be wrong if 1) None of those players become available and/or 2) Those players would rather win that whore themselves out?

Yes. They lost 1 game. But I bet you liked it when he did the exact same thing to cap the Eagles' comeback against the Giants.

Fact is, were he an Eagle, he'd be their top (only) legit deep threat and Sproles would be handling the returns.

Pretty insane that they most likely would have had an 8-peat had he not decided to be a minor league baseball player.

and that was a follow up to a previous post...bottom line is this they will have plenty of money to spend. doesn't mean or is implied it will work out that way. or that it will be easy.

there are always players available in free agency. again I said if it is only about $$ sixers have an advantage.

They got lucky too (and tanked)

David Robinson got hurt, so the team went in the poopter. He got healthy, but they kept him out to increase their lottery odds. They won the lottery and took Duncan.

If Robinson never gets hurt, the Spurs never get Duncan and likely never become a dynasty.

People always want to give credit to GMs in sports, but so much of it is about luck. The Timberwolves were a mess, but they lucked out that Lebron wanted to go back to Cleveland, which paved the way for a Wiggins+ for Love deal. If Lebron stays in Miami, the Timberwolves play out the season with Love and never get Wiggins. Love also makes them a half decent team, so they end up missing the playoffs but also not winning the lottery. Instead, they deal Love and win the lottery, which sets them up for the future.
