Goaltending has been solid. The guys playing in front haven't been. That last goal and to an extent the first goal weren't really Ullmark's fault.

We've only allowed 4 goals 3 times in a month. Once on 11/5 to Tampa Bay and then the Red Wings and Oilers. I'd say that's solid.

Edit: I'm not counting the 5th goal credited to the Wings because it was a shootout.

fair enough but i would credit some of that to our offensive possession in the enemies zone, taking much of the pressure off of our goalie {not these past few games obviously)

History shows most FA acquisition just doesn't work out that great...many for the reasons related to acquiring Stamkos...the cost is just to high.
IMO that is the problem here. Getting him depletes your pipeline and opens other holes.
I would rather build through the draft...and fill lesser roles through trades and FAs as needed.
That said, Sabres sure could use a sniper of his pedigree.

Well no poop. Most teams make a free agent acquisition and most teams don't win a championship. There are some that work out really well, tho, it all depends on the teams and talent.Chara was money for the Bruins, Scott Neidermeyer for the Ducks, Marian Hossa for the Hawks, ect.
To say free agency is fools gold is a bunch of malarkey.
