JB had a chance to trade Miller in the off season...
- hillbillydeluxe

Can't trade him before you see what markstrom can do ...everyone thought lack could handle the starters job until he was given it ...I like Jacob but you can't tell me you were confident he could play 60 games or more at a high level this year

I think you'd have to sweeten the deal for harmonic ... Edler is a good top 4 guy but he just seems to brain cramp from time to time and it's always in the most unopurtune times ...and harmonic is the flavour of the month and overvalued right now
- Redmile247

Edler is better than Hamonic right now and he's on a good contract, I wouldn't make that deal. But, I would trade Tanev for him.

Edlers just like every other offensive minded dman, Karlsson and Suban led the league in giveaways a few years ago, he turns the puck over more than he should. Doesn't negate the fact he's our best all-around dman and he's on pace for another 40+ point season.

Trading Miller before Markstrom proves himself makes us one step closer to being the Oilers, we don't want that!!!

Ever....

Miller has been okay. With some of the weak goals he has let in, makes me wonder what a Markstrom and Lack tandem could have done?

Really, it all falls on JB. You invest in this part of the lineup, but don't address this other part. Spend here, save there.

The Oilers d pales to ours and ours sucks. With a better d, you might be able to get away with a less established net.

Whatever, I guess. I am not a big Miller hater, just want to see Markstrom get more starts and not see a tired Miller so much.

I doubt Miller with the amount of games he has been playing. He is the #1 but diminishing returns the more you ride him. He needs his rest and the travel in the west wears on players and a veteran goalie as much or more...

Lack and Markstrom are both unproven as starters, but with their workloads in the AHL, they can handle more games and could have certainly split the net or come up with some other arrangement...

It just feels like we are struggling, WD sticks with what he is comfortable icing, but the team is still struggling. The definition of insanity is in there somewhere.

There's a lot of moving parts to the equation, Miller started really well until Willie overplayed him because of Markstroms injury. Then his game started to suffer. He had more starts than any other #1 at one point there.

Keeping Lack would have been silly considering the year Markstrom had and Markstrom would have walked had he not been given a chance to succeed in Vancouver. Trading Lack gave them a good young defenseman and a Miller & Markstrom tandem...

I wan't heart broken with the Lack trade. It made sense to trade someone.

Maybe it is WD's lack of trust in Backman that has put us in this spot. Miller was tired, don`t trust the backup, play Miller more. When we are losing close games, we needed more out of Miller, one more stop. Desperate way to start the season.

I thinking coaching decisions are one of the main reasons the team sucks, well that and injuries. Desjardins is running things into the ground trying to win. Torts Jr. this year.

Uh I didn't say I hoped he fought a Sedin. And Vantel brought up Marchand before me. So ya...
- westcoastleaf

Butt we know not to pay attention to Vantel.......
Anything Toronto for better or worse gets shoved down our throat by our 'local' media.
So Vantel talking about Marchand = ignore and move along (sorry Vantel).
Leaf fan talking about Marchand = more eastern media driven stories

Our problem isn't an obsession with the leafs, it's our so called local station cutting to a blue Jays recap rather then running a part game show. It's a generation of West coast fans who have been force fed Toronto news(I get it, population = advertising profits) in lue of local coverage.

All I did was say I hope Marchand and Burrows fight cause I hate both of them. I didn't mention Toronto or the leafs and definitely didn't come to start another pointless Vancouver/Toronto fight. Enjoy your game tonight

Bibeau and Sparks may be the best Leaf tandem in the last two decades. Thoughts?

So what if Edler is better than Hamonic right now? By the time we will be ready to compete, Hamonic will be better than Edler. Edler is already part of the past that we need to move past thinking of the future.

u feckin`lurker

just up from sorting the recycling, looked at the JetséCaps game, love the coaches challenge

makes me wonder if we hadn`t made that trade, where in the standings would we be?

where would we be if Bonino got hurt? same I guess, maybe not the hot start that Sutter had?

If we had kept Clendening, would Hutton be in the lineup? If we chose to expose Corrado, would someone else have gone on waivers too?

- westcoastleaf

I must say, if there's one thing that cheers me up as a Canucks fan it's the fact that our rebuild is already more on track than the leafs

I don't mind this, but the NMC remains and I don't think edler would go to brooklyn. Maybe NY rangers though.

I give Don Cherry two months before he declares Sparks as the best goalie to lace them up.
