Vrbata would look nice beside Cindy Crosby, but I'm not sure they have any chips we need? They have a serious hole on the backend from trading all their good young dmen so I don't see anything there. - LeftCoaster
Sid and Vrbata would be excellent line mates. They could skate down the ice and ask each other " I thought you knew how to score?" |

Crosby's a fantastic player, we all know that, but he plays with a badly assembled team. The only time they had really good depth they went to the finals, now it's like a Nucker assembled team, three high-end talented guys and nothing else behind them.
Although Nucker has seemingly learnt his lesson in that regard... |

I could see a second rounder. Plus the cap space |

Maybe they could get a conditional, but then I'd be in the odd position of cheering for the pens for a few rounds... |

The best thing for Canucks in dumping Vrbata and Hamhuis is the cap space so we can get a very good D .
I would look at trading Edler also . |

I think RJ is a UFA in three years . Right when Sedins contract expires |

No - he's an RFA in two years, doesn't have enough time in the league to qualify for UFA status. |

I dunno, I thought he signed a three or two year bridge last year. I think its a big payday for him soon. I'd very into the Canucks being the team that ponies up the big cash though. We've never had a center like that. |

But he is a UFA the following year that would make 3 |

i think he'll get dealt. Looks a lot like the O'rielly situation and Torts is not making him any happier. These guys aren''t into to getting low-balled and honestly I dont blame him for not being too happy if that is the case. |

Sedins contract expire 2018-19 same year as RJ is a UFA unless he signs a longer contract as a RFA the year before |

if he signs a one year deal yes, but that's highly unlikely! |

I don't think he likes CB . I think he signed a one year deal before with them . I might be wrong but if it wasn't one it was a two year deal , plus he missed the start of the year as a holdout .
I don't see long term in CB , maybe he wants to come home |

Columbus isn't (IMO) gonna sign him to a one year deal and let him walk, they'll protect their asset and sign him longer or trade him prior. Signing him as a UFA isn't likely or possible in my opinion.
Trade for him now!! |

Torts will be gone by the end of this season the way Columbus is playing, along with the management group (just like in Vancouver by the way) so I don't see RJ being moved at all, likely in the summer with a new management group, he'll get his 8 year mega deal extension. |

Coming off his rookie contract he wanted to be paid, they wanted a bridge-deal, which he eventually signed. I'm not sure where his head is but I'd love to have him and Lucic on a line with Virtanen next year |

To be fair, I think Vantel is referring to an arbitration situation here, which means one or two years. |

This is possible, for sure. New management could change things, but I sure hope not! |
