Medvedev changed the picture out there, paired with Schultz. Instead of losing the shot differential battle, that pair dominated it. It's a small sample, but I'd give it another shot.

Even before that. He's been a tad more aggressive in NZ which has always been a weakness. Even if he's still limited with the puck, he's been more aggressive for a few weeks now.

Whatever it is, I hope the results from tonight continue. Schultz is Schultz.

Gostisbehere and Medvedev have made a difference. The Flyers are a much better team with both of those guys in the lineup. Teams haven't really even been able to attack Gostisbehere down low to take advantage of his size and weaknesses. Imagine if this team could somehow add one legitimate all situations #1 defenseman, to the current team? Goes to what I've always said, the biggest problem on this team isn't Lecavalier, or the Cap, or Umberger. The biggest issue has been the failure to draft and develop defenseman. If they had drafted and developed a couple of quality defenseman in the last 5-8 years, things would be a lot different. Hopefully that's changing.

it's great to see them not blow this game. i don't think it can be understated - even though they're playing better, for obvious reasons - a loss at the end there could easily turn them right back the other way. especially against a team they have historic problems with, especially in their building.

really good stuff.

nice to see neuvirth not fall apart after the garbage goal, too, and see that the backup can continue to pick up key points.

(frank) the devils.

Always nice to beat NJ ... especially after giving up softie on the 1st shot of the game, and a game-tying goal in the last minute of regulation.

This team will look even better when Jake starts scoring. Of course, he might need to be with G to make that happen.

Popular whipping boy Schultz played a great game tonight. He should get flattened by Dylan McIlrath more often.

Jake played better after he got hammered in the corner too. Hmmm.

Had to watch most of the game on my phone. Did jake shoot that puck in OT when he came from down low? Looked like he passed and I couldn't believe he didn't shoot.

Also on first goal against. I believe it was Colorado that kept shooting from that angle on neuvirth. Hard to tell if he is just slow to get to the post or leaving too much room.

Finally got to watch the second half of the game

Really pleased they shook off that late one to win -- would have been routine for the Devils to have gotten the extra point just because that team steals points from the Flyers for no good reason whatsoever sometimes

I am enjoying this run they are on quite a bit. You guys have hit all the high points that I noticed, but the two biggest are that now that teams are looking at Ghost, Voracek is gonna start slicing them up from the other side and that having Medvedev in the lineup with Ghost makes them move the puck and shoot the puck from the blue line at a level we haven't seen since Carle and Pronger were there

Oh, yeah: Luke Schenn played 23 minutes last night. The Flyers are gonna fall into good fortune and get something good for him -- it's a shame that it's really too late, but he has been a solid, sometimes good, player for them this year
