What leak? The WJC thing? USA Hockey tweeted about the announcement tomorrow. That's not much of a leak.

And then several people came out with sources saying what it was. Then the outdoors game and such...please try to keep up

Eberle for Ennis is about the only trade I would consider.

The Oilers and Sabres are both looking for D with whomever they deal. This wouldn't make sense at all.

I could see Ennis dealt in a package for a LD sometime this year and this guy does too just ignore the fact he classifies him as a center and should be able to get more than an AHL D:

Though he’s injured now, keeping center Tyler Ennis makes little sense for this team. Already set with O’Reilly, Eichel and Sam Reinhart down the middle, Ennis could at least fetch an AHL defenseman who can be groomed for the shutdown role. Ennis’s contract—$4.6 million AAV—runs until the end of the 2018-19 season and is manageable, especially for a player who has three 20-goal seasons on résumé.

Dealing Ennis is just a possibility. The up and coming (however slowly) Sabres have their fans excited, but they’ll need to improve in the areas of the game that aren’t nearly as sexy as offense if they want to compete for a playoff spot and do some damage once they get there.

Still, not much of a leak. I thought there was an NHL leak of some sort.

That is probably the most misinformed "article" I've read in a while.

So Ennis has 3 20G seasons, but is only worth an AHL D. Yeah, that makes sense.

Your overrating that line. The only reason it did any good is because that's all we had in terms of players. See how well Moulson and Girgensons are doing this year? That whole line is 2nd-3rd liners. They aren't that good. Aside from Girgs no one out of the 3 are legitimate top 6 players. Legitimate meaning could be a top 6 player on virtually every NHL team.
- Jammerz04

A little late to the game here, but if you look at this opinion from a different angle, its all the reason why they should succeed as a 3rd line playing against other 3rd lines. If they did some damage as our "top line" last year, they should look even better against lesser opposition.

It just goes to show how much of an impact "systems" have on player production. Nolan didn't have much of one and certain players flourished, now that there's one of the more strict systems in place certain players aren't producing. Girgensons is a bit of an outlier in the sense that he's asked to perform a different role being the 3C checking forward as opposed to the 1C scoring forward, so it's not apples to apples with him, but Moulson, that's another story; he should be way better than he is. Ennis I suspect has been playing injured all year, so it's not as easy with him either. All in all, more data required. I thought this was going to be a "weird" year with all the new players and the new coach and the new attitude I figured we would be all over the place. And I'm not just being Johnny Hindsight either. I stated so many times before the season started. I said best case the first half of the year is going to be not great, that it would take time to jell, and then the second half we could turn it on and maybe make a run at maybe being a bubble team. And worst case we'd be picking top 3.

IMO Ennis was expected to have this breakout 25 goal 60 point season by many, and the pressure got to him a little, and he tried doing way too much

I feel like you're right about Ennis. Girgensons seemed to not be really favored by Bylsma at first, but he praised him once he was lost to injury. That pretty much only leaves Moulson. I think he would benefit fom consistant linemates to be sure. I'd like to see them play 20 games as a 3rd line together.

Would it surprise anyone if trying too hard to meet high expectations led to an injury that made things even worse.

Why not both??

From Sabres Talk 365 on Fb: Interesting news came out of Nashville on Tuesday night. Several scouts were watching the Coyotes/Predators game
According to Justin Bradford who's an insider reporter for The Predators said that the Sabres,Flyers, Panthers and Blackhawks are in discussion about a trade regarding Colin Wilson. On top of that, The Sabres are in front of the line for Wilson.

Big bodied center/or left wing who scored 20 goals last year but has 1 so far this year.

For our 3rd line I'd like to see
MattyMo-Larson-Gionta

For 2nd line
McGinn-Eichel-Girgensons

We know the top line.
