Sabres blew it. Blew 3rd period lead. Blew 4 on 3 in OT, didn't score once in the shootout.

Anybody else notice Eichel does a lot of standing and just kind of meandering around at times

His game has fallen off a cliff...he is trying to be a one man band...needs to find his linemates

How does one blow a game they were never really in? Down 2 goals at one point and outshot for most of the game.

That was a good 4 on 3 and it generated some high scoring chances. And the shootout is one big ol game of chance.

I really hate being a sabres fan sometimes
- feetontheair22

Why - they were a half inch away of winning twice. Eichels shot at the end of regulation skimmed the dman or was in and Kane almost got the hat trick in OT. Love O'Reilly but he should never take another shootout again. He looks like he's never gong to score. Why Moulsen too - he seems to have lost his scoring touch. Not sure why we didn't go eichel, reinhart and Kane in the shootout? Obvious chooses to me.

Oh by the way, we're watching a d-star in the making

How does one lead a game in the third period and not "ever" be in it?

Or is it because his linemates are Moulson and Gionta?

I'd like to see Reinhart in the shootout.

I'm not worried about Eichel at all. Get him a couple of solid wingers and he's off to the races.

Have you watched the last 5 games, I have seen the same thing for those games as well. He is trying too much to do it himself, he's a center, feed line mates, create opportunities for others.
Look, I realize he's 19 and very talented...but he needs some coaching in that regard.
And Yes, he stands around a bit too much once in his own zone..needs to keep moving.
Yes his pursuit back to his own end is great.

Good lord.

He's a rookie, some games will be worse than others, that happens.

Obviously I have not. Because I've seen a guy who all year has fed linemates who can't convert. And I've seen a rookie make rookie mistakes. Which is....normal.

But apparently i'm watching a different team.

Nope, just hyper critical of anyone saying anything about Eichel, apparently.
We agree he's a rookie who needs more development.
I'm not saying he sucks, which you may have interpreted it as so...rather, his game has deteriorated...which I agree is normal for a rookie.
Apparently saying something about means I'm an idiot!

On top of all that, if he doesn't 'coast' as some call it like that buffoon Milbury, from time to time, he will literally be ahead of nearly every linemate he has with his speed. His supposed loafing is nothing more than him learning when to use which gears during which parts of the game.

I don't actually recall saying that but sure. I simply disagree that his game has deteriorated. I think it has been relatively the same all year, the difference from week to week has been statistical production. Part of that is on him yes, but they went through a tough stretch of great teams and another where nobody could finish.

I have to say that Abdelkader is everything I hope Larsson would be.

He's a total slightly dirty POS who can also score.

Every team needs one of those.
