So if there was a bidding war real insiders like bob Mackenzie or Elliott Friedman would be left in the dark? I don't think so...plus if trouba was on the table, this deal would be done. Obviously he's not so here we are waiting. - JETSWIN
I didnt even mention Trouba i dont know why you felt the need to bring him up? Yeah MacKenzie and Elliot didnt know jack shat over the summer so what makes you think they know anything now? This didnt just start a couple weeks ago this has been going on since the end of last season with Hamonic. Pretty funny how you think this would be a public thing again and it also shows you really dont know a heck of a lot about the situation. |

I didn't even know that much. I was just going on troubas skills and potential alone.
the isles jump at trouba.
Imo, i cant see too many scenarios where they don't see myers as a reasonable return either. - Ihateallofu
Myers would fit the Isles system better than WPG' s for sure. He's not the beast he was made out to be but could be a suitable replacement for Hamonic until at least Pulock is ready. WPG could probably retain some salary if needed. |

Unless the Isles get what they want (another defenseman of similar value), Hamonic won't be traded until June. Then, you might see a forward for Hamonic- type trade. Eb-for-TH could make sense for the Isles by then if Okposo looks like he's leaving and Pulock/Pelech/Mayfield are deemed ready. |

Imo I don't think they have even offered Myers. They offered buff, and for obvious reasons the islanders said no....rumour now is the jets are taking another run at signing buff. Now you can speculate from there. |

I'm not saying anything, I just don't see a match of Hamonic for Eberle plus pick, its just that simple, 2nd I wouldn't even entertain that bc it doesn't help the isles currently unless another dman was acquired.
edit: No need for Schultz to be added bc isles will be adding significantly more $$$ to cap that is not needed yet. - Ur Not Me
That's why we another team involved. That way your opinion will be moot as far as Oulers fans are concerned. It's a double win for us. |

Resigning Buf for anything more than 2 or 3 years would be a huge mistake for the Jets. |

Double win..?? Oh wait, yes I see it now, Reinhart for Barzel + Beallivou ....
Don't 4get my other stud Nillson .... - Ur Not Me
Can't believe we traded what could've been Barzal!! Desperate for another 18 year old smallish skilled forward on our squad....
You were arguing potential is nothing more than that on the same page. Now you're talking as if a guy playing in juniors is some sort of huge loss for the oilers...
Also, nilssons been solid. |

I just want to make it very clear. Snow will have to lose on the player swap. He will never get someone equal to hammys value. Hammonic requested a trade because he wants to move close to home. If snow thinks a gm will just uproot a defensemen of equal value from their team, Move their family and force them to adjust to a new team just to do Snow and hammonic a favour... think again. The only way it works fairly in a player swap is if coincidentally someone like myers decides he doesnt want to play in winnipeg and wants to move to new york. Very unlikely this scenario will happen. Ofcourse a big package deal could happen sending multiple players or picks both ways but if snow wants a d in return hes probably going to take a loss. Depending on how serious the issue is hamm might decide to take a year off after the season too. |

No you didn't mention trouba. You said how do you know there's not a bidding war? Well, I know the islanders would like a player back like trouba, because butch goring said so.
The reason we didn't know this started in the summer, but we know now is because the agent for hamonic isn't happy a trade hasn't materialized yet. So you tell an insider like Friedman to put it back on the front burner. |

well u could of drafted a Dman at that spot, just saying.....
If isles didn't have enough roster players that are worthy, Barzal might have made the opening night roster and/or a possible 8 game look. He stood out that much in preseason. |

We don't regret not having Barzal. He doesn't make the oilers skilled positions this season either. Nor are we sorry we didn't draft an 18 year old
Reinhart showed flashes he can be a solid stay at home guy. Actually started looking pretty good before he went down for awhile
Needs to work on his foot speed though. His size and tool set are typically slow a slow steady development curve
Far from regretting that deal at this point |

Why not??? All Snow needs to do is include a pick or prospect. Maybe Snow won't win a deal in the long run... but he could easily get a player of his value or greater in return. It's all about what he's willing to include with Hammonic. |

Actually most of us have no ill will towards him and wish him the best of luck, just didn't pan-out quickly and slowly got passed on the depth chart.... |
