Sell and sell hard. The secondary scoring just isn't there.

No primary scoring, either.

Happy Thanksgiving to the American Flyer nation. Sorry you guys couldn't enjoy your holiday just a little more by celebrating a Flyer win.

On behalf of all us American Flyer fans, I thank you. Unlike last night's, we will enjoy today's turkey

Get Medvedev in the lineup, at least then it might be possible to trade him. On a team struggling offensively, it makes no sense for him to be sitting. Such an odd situation.

Get Jake off the bottom line. And leave the lines together. If you're losing whether or not you shuffle everybody around, leave things be for a couple games. It can't hurt.

And trade everybody with fewer than 4 goals...cause they all suck. (/s)

Sell and sell hard. The secondary scoring just isn't there. Get rid of what you can. Their in the beginning stages of a rebuild which means their still deconstructing....not retooling like some seem to think. It's not about a tweak here or there. It's about getting value this year and next year in the draf. Jake and g can be here for the duration and can be the vets the youngsters lean on. Everyone else is fair game
- Just5

correct this isnt any retool; anyone who thinks so is a tool...not even close to a retool...

Yeah, they need to be selling for sure. I'd keep G and Jake as I believe they will still be effective top 6 forwards by the time they're ready to contend. I'd also keep Couturier as I believe he can be an effective shutdown center/PK guy on a contender as well. Other than those 3, everyone on the roster, except for Laughton and Gostisbehere should be available in the right deal.

26 ES goals on the year. I do believe that is dead last.

Sell them vets Hexy. Between Streit, LSchenn, Read, Ganger and Schultz I'm hoping at least three are moved. Hell, if they could move 4 of them for picks that is almost an entire other draft.

Streit for a 1st
LSchenn for a 2nd
Ganger for a 3rd
Read for a 3rd
Schultz for a 5th

Medvedev could get us something at the TDL...if he could get into a few games between now and then.

B Schenn could be on the move as well. And Manning (7th d-man insurance for a playoff-bound team). With that many players potentially moving, certainly a package deal or two could be made, right?

C'mon Hexy!

Seen enough of Raffl and Read. I know Read is loved by many, but he just isn't the same player he was a couple years ago. I would try to move him now before his value drops even more. This team is going no where, if possible unload some $$ and bring up some kids
- 3flyerkids

Relax Raffl and Read COMBINED earn the same like RJ or Vinny and in minimum they are playing right now and very responsible what defense is concerned.
Sure BOTH need to get better offensive but the only thing what matters are points and
gap to play-off spot. Its even OK when you win your games or points only with your D-man scoring

streit is the only one with real value imo. maybe have to include a mid rd pick or eat some $ to get a 1st which is fine....gagner and schenn dont see it.

Not sure what else Giroux can do right now..producing , got in a fight, scored a SH goal. Literally G and Ghost are the only players doing anything

Would be nice if Voracek would score more than 1 goal.

Would be nice if Couturier did something other than put up possession numbers or get justifications on why he isn't producing again.

What has happened to Simmonds? Constant improvement over the past few years and he has hit a wall.

Raffl and read are nothing more than 4th line players.

I'm also not okay with Giroux fighting. I understand that is what a good captain tries to do but If he breaks his hand doing that Couturier becomes your number 1 center and I can't believe anyone thinks that is a good idea.

now that's out of the way down to business
I figured out why umberger and vinny are here: so claude and Jake can see what's it like to be past your prime and overpaid.

They won't have to eat money on Streit. He was top 10 in D man points last year. His cap hit is hardly terrible and other than this surgery he usually doesn't miss much time. At the deadline no one is going to have Hexy over a barrel on Streit. If they want a vet PP QB they'll pony up.

You're serverely undervaluing Luke if you don't think a team will offer a late 2nd at the deadline for him. Just because he isnt worth a 1st anymore doesn't mean he has zero value whatsoever.

It is stinking from top to bottom with all the teams in the organ I zation.

Going to cut down on my trips to see the Royals too , rather than make a 120 mile round trip/gas/tolls/parking and frigging $4 for water in that arena.

This disease is everywhere from the Flyers to the Phantoms to the Royals, its a stinking plague of undersized/non scoring/ soft players or people with stone hands who cant pass, and too slow to decide.

Is it my imagination or did Berube do better with this team last year?

I love what Gotisbehere brings but for God's sake let him play with Schenn. The opposition is licking their chops whenever the Ghost and Manning are out there. It is the NHL equivalent of throwing this guy to the wolves. This meaning sitting Manning and bringing back Medevdev and sitting Schultz, something Hakstol has been reticent to do.

wasnt talking about Vinny' or RJ. They are players who can't be moved. Raffl and Read may fetch something. This team is going no where this year. Let kids play if possible.

Beat up a little bit but in good spirits. Couple of bites on both ears and a good bite on the neck. Thankfully nothing went into muscle tissue. Its just a royal pain the ass with aftercare now. Thanks for asking.

I think these are a bit optimistic, but Hextall will have assets to deal, and should be able to get some picks. I'd be selling anyone scheduled to be a UFA, or who didn't fit as a RFA.

I'm thankful for Bill and his excellent blogs.
Tough year(s) for us Flyers fans.

Would love to have Bill's insight on what is going on with Medvedev not playing.

Perhaps he knows but is not in a position to share it with us.

On guys like Read and Raffl, they are solid role players. If Read isn't scoring he is a bit overpaid for his role. Raffl is a fine bottom 6 forward, hopefully if they keep him they don't overpay on the next deal.
