I would demand a prospect like Connor if it was the Jets. If they said no, I'd keep Schenn and play him as a first or second line RW for the rest of the season. - Feanor
I agree. I do the deal straight up. But you wouldn't get Connor as the prospect plus the other parts of the rumor. So if the rumor is true does it mean the team is looking for qty over quality? |

Top 9 forward, prospect and pick for BSchenn?
Uh, isnt the point to get us away from mediocrity, not bury ourselves further in it?
I'd rather trade BSchenn and a pick for one reliable young player. - hereticpride
Yeah, but if you like some or any of the forwards you have coming up, the top 9 guy could buy you some time (reliably and more cheaply than BSchenn is going to be) until a forward you develop comes along.
I was thinking they'd trade BSchenn for another player like him...i.e.-- a young player who hasn't quite met expectations, but could benefit from a change of scenery. |

It makes absolutely no sense to go quantity over quality.
With BSchenn they either need a straight up hockey trade to move him for a LW of similar age/talent or package him with another asset and get a better player. |

I completely agree. Hopefully the ask in the rumor is wrong. |

Sorry, I can't trade BSchenn to "buy time" for other guys. If that were the case I'd need that pick to be a 1st and that prospect to be pretty damn solid. I can't see it. |

TSN Hockey Insider, Darren Dreger, said Schenn is being shopped and teams are interested.
Now I can confirm per very trusted sources the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames have all expressed serious interest in Brayden Schenn and would be looking to acquire him in the near future. The asking price for Brayden Schenn is around a top 9 forward, a prospect, and a draft pick. - Feanor
Some interesting teams. I wonder if you could pry Hoffman from Ottawa. Some guys from the jets I might like: Brenden Lemieux, Jimmy Lodge, Kyle Connor and Burmistrov. St. Louis: Ivan Barbashev, Ty Rattie.

Agreed. Plus, the only high-end lock forward prospect the Flyers have is Konecny. NAK, Lindblom, Fazleev, Marody etc have varying degrees of upside but none is a lock. |

Barbashev and a 1st would get my attention. Assuming the Blues lotto protect the 1st I don't think that is an unfair deal for either team. |

Agreed. I want a real solid pick or prospect and a filler piece rather than 2 mid level pieces |

Why would a return like that lead to more mediocrity? A good draft pick and a prospect has the potential to help a team.

Because you aren't getting the same quality for 3 pieces when you're trading one.
You feel okay bringing in a 3rd liner lesser than Schenn, prospect lesser than Schenn and a 2nd or 3rd? |

Honestly, I know the guy is 31 but I would love to see Backes in a Flyers uniform. Have him on the 2nd line and put Coots back to Line 3. |

I would but the flyers aren't close enough to contending for him. And I think he needs a new deal.
I would love for him to play wing with Giroux and Voracek.
He would be great fit if they were close to contending. |

That does sound intriguing. The Blue are a playoff lock so they can protect the 1st if they want. |

Out of those teams rumored I think Colin White is the prospect I'd be after. None of those teams really have any LW prospects that excite me all that much. White sounds like a very strong offensive Center. |

White's tearing it up in college like Konecny is in the OHL. Hopefully both of them will be ready to play in the NHL as 19 yer olds. |

I mean, I knew this season was going to be bad, but not this bad. And you can't even blame Vinny or MacDonald! |
