At the animal hospital after my two golden retrievers got attacked by my neighbors pitbull. My one legged neighbor with a pit on no leash that is. Finally found something worse than watching this team. Sigh.

I don't have an issue with re-signing rafll as a bottom 6 player as long as its reasonable. the way his season is going statistically I can't see him asking for too much. if he does then you cut ties.

I'm growing tired of Simmonds. I know Read and Couturier aren't scoring either but at least they play solid defense and kill penalties with Couturier being very good on the PK. with Simmonds, if he isn't scoring what else does he do?

Still within striking distance. Getting so many quality chances when I run my fancy stats. I'm sure the tables are gonna turn

Hope your dogs are okay. Sounds like one poopty (frank)ing owner your neighbor is...probably abuses his own dog too to make it do something like that

Clearly you need to watch the games, buddy. All they do is work it down low and play physical dump and chase hockey. To a fault. They are among NHL hits leaders. Along with teams like the Kings and Rangers -- definitely bottom feeders in the talent department. Definitely though, the Flyers need to hit and fight more...like this game, their worst in weeks.

Oh, and you should try Google. It'll stop you from spouting half-baked bullpoop, Biff

Flyers are one of the worst carry in teams in hockey. It's one of the reasons they generate shots, but rarely get them from prime scoring areas. I don't understand why Hakstol continues to encourage them to play dump and chase.

I think were all just frustrated and we want to believe that this team can improve by doing things within their ability like hitting more, playing with more fire, maybe clicking on different lines.

It just boils down to the players on the ice not being good enough and there's nothing that any coach, GM, or MJL is going to be able to do about it

I think he knows that if they carry in more they are going to be highly susceptible to turnovers and counterattacks. They aren't good enough to do it imo. At least this way they can bumble their way into some loser points

There are times when they choose to chip it deep when a carry in can be made.

They have the 2nd worst goal differential in the league and are close to having the fewest points.

(frank)ing preach. I don't mind if the grinders in the bottom are playing dump and chase, but he is neutering his top players by making them play dump and chase. To quote a post I saw on Twitter, seeing Jake Voracek, one of the elite entry guys in the league, play dump and chase with PEB and VDV is depressing and a travesty. They are actually deferring likely controlled entries for dump-ins and it is infuriating. And when it is in zone, everything is perimeter: in the corner, around, to the d, shot on net, retrieval, repeat. As Hockey BB King would say, "The skill is gone, baby."

Those line combinations are killing me. Maybe Medvedev is being healthy scratched because he's actually great at controlled entries, either skating it in himself or making hard, flat passes on the tape. Want an awesome stat? With Med in 11 games: 12 controlled entry goals, 7 with him on the ice (!). 11 games without: 4 controlled entry goals. And controlled entry goals are something like ~75% of goals scored. 6/22 ES goals have been on dump-ins. That's it. Wish Hakstol would realize that.

Most of the time I don't see a choice in it. They have to dump it in or get plastered Whoever is carrying up is usually alone.

Has it been asked to Hak why Med isn't playing? Hey Hak, what does med need to do or work on to get back on the ice? Could one of our beats ask this? (frank)

It is frustrating to see them play dump and chase hockey. Even when they retrieve it and get it back to the point, the defenseman are so inept at getting the puck to the net or making a play. They're essentially using their skilled guys to win board battles and create opportunities for their unskilled defenseman.

He didn't intend to tank this year. I honestly believe he thought this team would be competitive. Maybe not playoffs, but certainly in the mix
