worse #1 overall?

Patrik Stefan, 1999, Atlanta Thrashers
Doug Wickenheiser, 1980, Montreal Canadiens
Alexandre Daigle, 1993, Ottawa Senators
Rick DiPietro, 2000, New York Islanders
Gord Kluzak, 1982, Boston Bruins

and as good as the 1990 draft was, imagine being the Islanders who too Scott Scissons 6th overall.

- nastyflyergirl

Gord Kluzak most likely would've been a pretty good d-man, unfortunately he was sidetracked by chronic knee issues which ended his career.

How do you know what quality Hextall would accept? Do you think he's going to give him away? The top 9 forward is just likely a throw in for added depth, and is the lesser component in the deal.
- MJL

Do you know that he won't give him away? He gave hart ell away so his track record says yes he just may

Prices on Shayne Gostisbehere rookie cards have been slowly increasing the past few weeks.

No way. Not with this team's need for defense.

I'm going to the game on Friday, and I can't wait to see how many folks already are rocking a 53 "Gostisbehere" jersey.

No, and neither would Edmonton. Schenn and Ghost for Nurse, yes.

I wonder what he'll settle on. Can't have 14.

Because he's a fairly good professional ice hockey player.

How much good is he? Eh, he probably tops out as a top-6 forward with limited PP time in the long run.

How long will he play: I don't know, he's 26, so maybe another 8 years or so.

Raffl could be a nice replacement for Read's role moving forward if you moved read at the tdl. Raffl on a line with Laughton and Leier could be a nice defensive line to create chances using speed.

Maybe he reverses 14 and goes with 41?

I would just stick with that.

This team is under-performing across the board. Why the focus on Raffl?

And I'd bring him back for 2 years at or a bit above what he's currently making.

The NHL will invoke a "Raffl clause" which allows the Flyers to exceed the salary cap by $1100M per season and sign Raffl for as many years as they like so that they can retain his services. Raffl will win the 2018 Winter Games men's cross-country skiing gold medal by the end of next year and will father no less than 450 strong Austrain boys. After he ascends to Valhalla at the age of 158 after dying in a cage match against 19 African alpha male lions, mankind will hold a mass suicide since they no longer exist on the same spiritual plane as Michael Raffl and therefore see no reason to continue living.

So, a lot.
