61 games to go? We saw this 82 times last year. And now without medvedev. We are the exact same team almost. Worse on d. Better in net.

They're not a very good team. We all know it. I know we are all going to get frustrated at various points, as well

Last night didn't bother me as much because, well...it's what teams that aren't very good do. I am glad they showed nice execution in the OT

I want them to win, or play younger players. I can get pissed with the best of them, too. But they did do a few good things last night

The league also seems to be onto the PP finally. We went from what, 3rd in the league to close to, if not, dead last?

There were plenty of us saying that the team relying so heavily on the PP for scoring would come back to bite them. Well look where we are now.

After a mid-day break, the rage came back this afternoon, hey? This has been one of the oddest days I have seen on HB, and I haven't fought with a soul

I wasn't sure if it was more heated than usual today, but it sure seemed like it. Weird.

That's about execution and making plays, not about the league being onto the PP. You have a 5 on 4 advantage. With all the technical advances in video, and all, the league just didn't suddenly learn how to defend the Flyers PP. Any competent coach can break down a team's PP attack, and devise a way to defend it. It's still 5 on 4.

I disagree.Once set up I see teams being a lot more aggressive on the puck carrier this year and they're having success with it.

Certainly other teams are covering G a lot tighter than before. I think they love it when the puck is passed down to Simmonds. I can't remember him doing one good thing with it this season

Feanor I think your clueless , you keep smashing Manning, you even say recall McDonald well there was a reason they sent him down its called Cap Five million compared to $625,000 the only reason they could call Up ghost is because Streit is on I.R. The one they should waive is Medvedev so they can keep Ghost up after Streit comes back. They can't call anyone lile Hagg ,Alt or Morin up as they would be over its not that they don't want them it's because they can't!!!!! So hopefully if they don't trade someone they can make room for Ghost by getting rid of another 'D' but Manning is not an option .

FYI
Sending down AMac only saved them 950K on the cap. Also, as long as Streit is on LTIR, they have enough room to call up anyone they want.

Really?

1. They only saved $950K on AMac, not $5M.
2. They will be able to keep Ghost up after Streit comes back by waiving anyone (besides VLC) that they want to.
3. They have the cap space to call up anyone they want as long as Streit is on LTIR, but they have a roster size issue if they choose to do so (unless they waive someone, a la MacDonald).
4. Manning, as well as the majority of the entire team, is an option to be traded.

Different teams vary. Some aggressively attack, some are more passive. Pressuring the puck is not a new tactic. Taking away a player's time and space is not something that teams just figured out to do against the Flyers PP. They're having success because at times the Flyers don't move the puck quick enough, and don't execute.

The Flyers currently have over 3M of usable cap space. The cap hit for Haag, Alt, and Morin is well under that. Manning is absolutely an option. They can waive and if he's not claimed he can be demoted. They can also trade Manning.

While Im sure Hexy is listening to offers about pretty much any vet, I very much doubt he's actively "shopping" anyone other than the deadwood at this point of the season.

This is what frustrates me about this flyers team. The following players are all proving that it is a stretch to call them "top six" forwards: Simmonds, Read, Couturier and Raffl. You know have a injury situation that requires a call up from the Phantoms. The flyers call up Colin McDonald.

How about admitting you have a problem scoring goals especially from your "top six" group? How about calling up a young player that is showing potential and insert them in the top six? Any one of Cousins, Straka and Martel have a equal chance of success as the others named above. Calling up Ghost on defense and his immediate impact is proof that the NHL is a young man's league (see Vinny and Umby for proof).

This team is stuck in a mentality that you must be an experienced veteran to play in the top six. It's not working.....the existing players are not succeeding. Look around the league and see the number of young players succeeding in today's NHL.

I am fed up.

Actually, I disagree. Recall of McDonald allows to push Leer up and give him more minutes/ night. So, one of the "kids" will benefit from this recall.

That's an article that is written based on the circumstantial evidence of the situation. Flyers are struggling, have some older players, hence the standard Flyers are shopping players article. They just re-signed Couturier, to a long term deal, now they're looking to trade him? I know, Richards and Carter. This is different. Agree on the source.

It was 14 pounds over 8 1/2 months. Also it was a program the Flyers put him on.

Program = steroids?

- JoeRussomanno

It was actually 14 AHL games following a training camp and three preseason games with the Flyers, but who's counting? Only people who can count, I guess.
