If Gagner is healthy I think one of these two lineups could work. If not, switch Leier with McDonald, who would be a 4th liner, and keep Leier with Laughton. The Jake with PEB and VDV looked ok for what it is, but it's boggling my mind how you could neuter the offense of the second best player on this team like that.

I look at this specific call up a bit differently.

Where would Straka most benefit playing? In a scoring role, getting 17+ minutes a night with LV, or in a checking role down with the Flyers getting 5-8 mintues a night?

McDonald isnt developing. They know what he is going to bring to the ice. Smart move.

Do I think it would hurt Straka to come up? No, but it also wont help him any.

What you seem to be ignoring is that you just don't understand the facts. The truth is that the facts point to me being right, which is what is really important. That is a fact and once you accept it, you'll realize that you're incorrect. These are simple facts.

I think we should stop asking who the Flyers should bring up from LV, but start asking what can the Flyers do to get Voracek,Simmonds, Couturier etc going?

I understand the eagerness to see what the youngsters can do, and to a certain extent me too. But we're at the Thanksgiving part of the season. I'm not ready to start calling guys up just because we're in a rut. Call me an idiot, and I'm sure some may be thinking to yourselves that, but I'd like to see if they can make a run before the new year to see where we're at. If you truly feel that what you see right now is going to be the same in December, January I can respect that.

I don't know how much a guy like Straka or even Cousins benefit the team in 2015-16.

Gostisbehere has been a quick healer. He was off crutches after two weeks, then about two weeks after that was skating again. He returned to practice last week, and if he hits that soft-target date to be playing in early March, he could get in another 20 regular-season games.

"I hope I can be back by then," Gostisbehere said. "That would be nice, but if I'm not ready, that's the way it is. It's my body. I've got to heal properly. Of course, I'm not going to go back if I feel like I'm not ready or my knee's not strong enough. I think March is a good time period, but it's all up to my body."

His life now is consumed by rehab, which for him is four hours a day, six days a week. On days he skates, he works on strengthening his upper body off the ice. When he doesn't skate, he works on his lower-body ... unless it's his one rest day.

End of the season I can get on board with. If they are completely out of it then, it's the perfect time to find out what you got moving forward.
