Ennis has to go

The way the skunk is playing, he deserves the top 6 slot on a nightly basis

I am fine building a top 6 around ror, kane, eichel, skunk and girgens

I would like a pure sniper, of course, ok if it's a prospect as long as he is nhl ready

side note Ritchie was tearing it up in the AHL before he got called up so if the trade was with the ducks, I would want him to come back with fowler, of course more then ennis will be needed

He's been bad but has to go?

We don't have the firepower to move him.

Girgensons has done nothing offensively, neither has Kane or Reinhart really yet. Or guys like Larsson, Foligno etc.

Ennis is under pressure IMO. Everyone predicted he would break out and have a career year. He's forcing it

I'm fine with Reinhart getting more ice time.

I just don't think we have the offense to move Ennis. He's not gonna continue to be this bad

if the rumor for trying to get a top 4 d man is true, which player would you want moved

IMO it comes down to girgesn and ennis (no way murray moves kane, ror or eichel)

the numbers ennis is putting up, does not bother me

what made me like him was the 2 way effort, the work on the boards and that is what is bothering me

for the record there is a much bigger issue then ennis with the sabres
if ennis gets 45-50 points as an 18 minute player, I am fine with that

it starts and ends with gionta, not him as a player, but the role he is given

IMO the sabres have 7 guys that should be playing in the top 6 for minutes, when team is healthy

kane, ror, eichel, skunk, girgens, ennis, moulson
ror, kane, eichel and to a lesser extent skunk all have top line skill

7 guys, 6 slots, solve that problem by letting girgens anchor the 3rd line, second team pp, and pk time, gets his minutes up

moulson, second line player, should only be getting second line minutes, I am fine with him getting ice time on first team pp

gionta should only be playing 10-12 minutes even strength, which is a 3rd line player. He is holding the team back offensively

the other issue with the team, aside from Deslauriers, there is no 4th line player on this roster, excluding a Schaller call up

this, top 3 lines, falls solely on the head coach and the biggest question I have is the gionta issue

Girgensons has no business in the top 6

That's where he needs to be, but according to Bylsma he's been asked to be more of a defensive forward checking the opponents top line which he's good at, but you're not going to put up a lot of points in that situation. I don't know what his zone starts look like so far this year, but I'd wager that he's playing mostly in his own end.

Larssons can also take his place as a 3rd line shut down center.
Girgensons would put up more points playing with better line mates.
Therefore, justifying him having business in the top 6.

The issue with the team is they haven't found reliable scoring beyond ROR. Chicken and egg question is whether the problem is Gionta in the top 6 or whether Gionta in the Top 6 is Disco's effort to solve it.

I don't like him there, but I don't hate the shake ups to find points.

Ullmark was also solid, it's gonna be really interesting trying to figure out the goaltender situation when Lehner comes back.

he has been solid.. i think he needs to be the guy until lehner comes back.. then i got no clue what TM will do.

ROR needs better line mates.. Gionta needs to go back to the 3rd line. i would rather see delorian up their with ROR at this point.

People are actually complaining about Byslma??? We are night and day better than last year... Only thing i have a issue with is the obsession with Gionta. He is bad. Get him away from the top 6. Immediately

Aside from the Gionta love this coaching staff has done a fantastic job. They do alot of teaching, it will pay off for the kids.

if its between ennis and Girgensons for moving.. i think you pick ennis to move. I love the guy and i think he could be a top player in this league.. but i think Girgensons fits the age and style of the team a little better than ennis.

If they handled the 5 on 3's better, this was an easy 2 points. ROR and Ullmark were terrific last night.

this season we have had 3 extended 5 on 3s and have 0 goals to show for it.. that is not a good stat line and that needs to be drastically improved.

Jake Allen played a good game last night though..

Allen was very good. He made a nice save on ROR in the first with his stick.

Every game at least to me, it appears that Linus is getting more and more comfortable on NHL ice.
Linus has been a great surprise for me thus far this season.
He already plays like a veteran and is very calm in there.
At least the goaltending is not the huge issue most had anticipated it may be.
When Lehner comes back, who do you sit?
I kind of like this present tandem at the moment.
They certainly are not losing them games.
This season gets more and more interesting as we get deeper into it.

I'm only up 26 but also have 7 fewer player-games left (though 1 of those extra games is a goalie's back-to-back for him, so that probably won't count).

And it's against another ref...so losing will suck.
