Closer value but hamhuis hasn't been great this year and is a ufa after this year. I doubt the canucks want to move virtanen - Isles_since_6
Hamhuis is still a good vet to obtain regardless of FA status bc isles could worry bout that in off-season. Plus that's the type of deal that Snow might want..?? |

quite possible but regardless theres no rush for Snow... - Ur Not Me
Of course there is. He doesn't HAVE to do anything but there are many, many reasons why he SHOULD if the proposed reason is true... and it isn't just from compassion but also marketing, player morale and perception etc... I doubt the leak will improve any of the offers he may be considering either. |

I'm thinking its family related as well. Mom is prob sick.
So funny how quickly people say it's Brooklyn. Lol.
They commute to Brooklyn 41 times during season. And get bus/ car service home after. So funny. No one wanted to come Nassau bc it's old and Noone wants to come to Brooklyn bc it's not Nassau.
Newsday article for to mention that isles playoffs tickets were easy to get at discount. I bet you they won't be in Brooklyn this spring |

Complete assumption on my part but I'm gonna guess maybe his mother or sibling is sick and with his dad gone maybe he figures he needs to be there - Vukota
This may sound callous, but if I'm Snow, I tell Hamonic "hey, we get it. You want to be closer to home. We will try to accommodate you but we're not giving you away. If we get a deal for equal or better value in return for you, well accommodate you. If not, plan on finishing out your contract"
Hammer is arguably their best d-man. They can't give him away just to make Hammer happy. They owe it to the other players to make sure if they trade Hammer, they get back a top four d-man, signed and entering his prime, just as Hammer is. |

Garth also has to worry about his own neck. If things go bad he could be out of a job with the new owners coming in. |

I don't intend to undervalue Hamonic cause he's great, but Nurse in a non-starter. I'd start at an offer like our 1st with Fayne or Davidson, and a prospect not named Brossoit. It'd likely cost more though considering Fayne's drop off in play early on. I'd swap him with Schultz if that would give more of the element your team is looking for. |

The isles cannot just give away their best all around defenseman because he wants to go home, conceding that the reason is likely real legit. Hammer is a top four on any team in the league, a top pair guy on a good number of the teams in the league. You can't just ship him out for s**t because he asked to be shipped out. Hammer has to understand that. If he needs to be home, take a leave of absence and be with your family. That would be totally understandable. But he cNt expect the isles to ship him out from a point of weakness since this got leaked just to accommodate Hammer. |

How about Hamonic, Bailey and Okposo to Edm for Jordan Eberle, Mark Fayne, and 2016 2nd? - btbossman
I assume this is an Oiler fan trolling with an "Isles" account. |

Is a high 1st not giving to get? And I said that's where it starts. I just hope your GM isn't as obtuse as you. |

No it wont, an established top 4 for an unproven kid yet?? grant it the potential is there for Nurse, but it was also there for Myers, Bogosian, etc if you get my point... |

A 1st rounder as the center piece doesn't make sense for the Islanders who want to contend now. The only pieces that make sense from you guys is either Sekera or Nurse. |

The Isles are closer to win now mode. It was already reported Snow wants an equivalent d man back. He isn't taking picks and prospects. That is really stupid for any team anyways unless you are selling to rebuild and NOT with a 25 year old legit top 4 D like Hamonic.
How many 1st rounders turn into legit top top pairing d men? 1 out of 5? 10?
You probably have one in Nurse so I can see not giving him up but don't pretend you're getting Snow to not take an NHL player back in the deal. Maybe if this drags on and you have a top 3 pick. |

Another prospect of draft pick is not what the isles need. They need someone coming back to slot into their top four and give them what Hammer gives them. Prospects and draft picks don't do that. I don't see the isles moving Hammer to any team for picks/prospects. That f**ks the "D" for this season. One more big injury to one of the other top four guys and the isles would be in dire straits (no pun intended) |
