You can get a nice injection down in the West Village. You should try it out.

Just keep him out of the East.

I think The Oil is the perfect trade partner. Eberle for Hamonic.

At the end of the day we are both die hard isles fans.......imagine if Ryan McDonaugh asked to be traded?

I hear you but i kinda feel like its a nice way of saying, trade me now. Im sure Snow will try and get value for Travis but at the end of the day I dont feel like he asked to be traded, i feel like in a nice way he said get er done.
- kindlyrick

Well unfortunately Travis doesn't really have much of a say in it. The truth is, nobody really knows what exactly the situation is. I have a feeling it's not immediately dire (ie: someone is on their deathbed or getting there quickly) or I don' think Snow would be holding out for so long. But who knows, it's all speculation. Just hoping they get a good return for him and I'm not quite as pessimistic as most.

I know, I'm just playing around. And yes if McDonagh asked to be traded, it would suck big time.

I mean if someone was on their deathbed, id think they would release him and let him be with his family. But, he's not asking for that, he's asking to be permanently released. Im devistated

Not that I don't love Eberle, but we have to get a defenseman back (and per Elliotte Friedman, Snow is demanding this as well). Let's be honest, this defense is already not perfect. Losing arguably a top 2-3 defender isn't going to help that situation. Unless they are sending Nurse or Klefbom along with Eberle, I can't see it happening.

How does anyone get over their best young dmen asking to be traded? Its not like any of their prospects are going to come in and take his minutes.

One thing I'm wondering and I haven't seen it brought up. What happens if it comes to a point where whatever the situation is, if its important enough to him he decides to retire for a little bit, if Snow can't facilitate a trade. What happens with the contract, how long before he can come back? Obviously it is the least likely scenario to happen but it could still be an option to him.

I am going to assume someone in the family is pretty ill and he wants to be closer to that person. I think also asking to be traded to western Canadian teams may back that theory up as the person could be relocated to one of the cities he gets traded to as they would still get medical coverage as they would still be in Canada.

Yup, Snow is in a pickle. Because I would think he has to get back an equal value which is going to be difficult. Now if you had a young d-man that was real close to being a top 4, makes this decision so much easier.

I genuinely think that the news leaking was no accident. The Islanders are obscenely tight lipped, these things don't usually happen. All it's going to do is create a bidding war. All it takes is one team to have a real hard-on for Hammer and make a bigger offer...and then all bets are off.

I think Eberle is better than Strome (my opinion), and is a true winger, who played WJC with JT. Nurse is a beast.....and quite frankly, Travis has to be moved. To me, this is a good trade for both teams.

This is true, and what you guys are going to have to hope for. Question is though, even in a bidding war, what team wants to give up a top pairing D-man?

Really? I actually thought thats a decent trade. Nurse & Strome potential. Hamonic & Eberle proven. Nurse was great in the WJC.

Not a clue. I mean, and it's insanely unlikely that that happens but...if he were to "retire" his contract would just disintegrate as far as I understand. I have no idea if there is some emergency clause or anything that would affect that.

I guess if it's Nurse and not Klefbom it's not that out of the question. But I dunno, I think Strome could be really good.
