Daley is an obvious trade candidate, I said the same about a week ago...

Daley needed to be a steady, consistent player and have a veteran influence.
No need to look further than his TOI to see what Q thinks of him so far and how inconsistent he has been.

Dallas places far less importance on defense and as we see with Daley he was a top 4 in Dallas and in Chicago he really isn't capable of playing in Q's system at all because of his lack of defensive commitment and skill. Same with Sharp, if Q allowed him to play strictly an offensive game he's be a top scorer for the Hawks too. When the important games come poor defense will be Dallas' downfall as it was last season and the ones before that.

Daley was slotted too high last season and it didn't take Q very long to put him on the 3rd pairing where he belongs...At least that's where Daley belongs on teams in a Cup hunt.

Hopefully Stan can move Daley for picks and regain that cap space to go after another vet dman who will fit the system better. As Mex mentions plenty of vets out there at the end of their deals...Russell as several have mentioned and what about Soupy - maybe a bit long in the tooth here but he certainly knows the system...and is a left handed shot...

Maybe I misread the report, but I thought Hamonic requested a trade to the west coast. How is Winnipeg considered west coast? They're not any closer to the west coast than Chicago is ... okay, maybe a little bit closer - like a half inch on the map

Freidman's article actually said Hamonic requested a trade to the West, which I took to mean western conference. Dreger specified teams in western Canada.

Not sure what Hamonic's family concerns are, but I hope he ends up in Winnipeg because for him to request a trade here means it must be pretty serious. Winnipeg has the pieces to get it done and I hope Chevy and Snow are able to get it done and be satisfied.

As an aside...Colin Fraser just retired. So, that leaves Bickell from the original trade...

And they also said Snow has known since training camp. If it is a critical illness Snow should have made something happen sooner. Hamonic is supposed to say something tomorrow. He is a high character guy so assume it is serious. Hope it works out for him.

Harmonic is concussion prone, I know he had three two years ago including one that kept him out for almost a month. I also believe he had a bad one last season. I like him allot but I'd be concerned about the severe concussions and the fact his game is very physical

regardless of that you don't trade for someone who is going thru a possible family problem right now and have them play at there best game. would rather keep the assests and make a deal for someone who's head will be in it.

Kero was signed as a undrafted free agent from college. The 10 game mark applies to players from juniors.

Is that completely true as I always thoght it was an age thing which just ends up being a junior issue.The slide could easily apply to some young player who has never played junior it just doesn't seem to ever happen.

Half of this board could probably have 5 points playing next to Seguin & Benn lol. Outstanding offensive talents and I think Jamie is growing into a great "Lead by Example" captain. Benn does it all. Sharpie would look awfully good next to 19/81 right now....brings back memories of 10 playing like a man possessed to make Team Canada...good times. Here's hoping for a great game from Daley. Boost that trade value and get us a dependable depth D StanBo! Let's Go Hawks!!!

To sign Oduya they needed to trade Sharp. Was any team willing and able to make that trade with the Blackhawks? If not, getting Daley make sense to backfill Oduya's spot.
