Not gonna happen. Let's ignore the fact no team is brave enough to make such a major shake up, Winnipeg is decimating their defense and replacing him with Luke Schenn. It is way too much.

Then looking value wise I think it will be too much too. I think Winnipeg will value Scheifle over B.Schenn (even if they don't I wouldn't consider the difference in value to be high pick or top roster player) so that should make Scheifle, Stuart, 2nd give or take even to both Schenns.

Meaning we are looking at Byfuglien, Ladd, Enstrom, 1st for Giroux and a 2nd.

I can see this more likely to get done if you exclude Enstrom from the deal, but even then it goes to my original point. Way too many high end players switching teams for either GM to bet their job that it is the right decision IMO.

Cool thought though.

I don't see any deal of moving Giroux for 2 expiring contracts and a 1st. Giroux is certainly worth more than a first and if the Flyers wanted Buff/Ladd they are going to have to pay UFA prices anyway, so just do it in the offseason and work a better trade for Giroux/Voracek/whoever to clear space and get value back.

To Philadelphia: Dustin Byfuglien, Mark Scheifle, Mark Stuart, Andrew Ladd, Tobias Enstrom, 2016 1st round pick, 2017 2nd round pick.

To Winnipeg: Claude Giroux, Vincent Lecavalier, Braden and Luke Schenn, 2016 2nd round pick.

Major shake-up for both teams.

Looks like in his next 4 games he's going to have an assist, be a +3 and have 6 PIM

LOL Ek! No team that wants to win a Stanley Cup would want a player who's a -11 in his playoff career. A player that is known to play a one dimensional game, that does not include defense. LOL! any good team would be stupid to trade for Patrick Marleau, unless you want an extremely gifted player who plays hard about 60% of the time, he's been benched by more then one coach for lackadaisical play, who's been called out by a Hall of Famer, and most of all a player who chokes come playoff time.

My hope is that somehow we can get him to Chicago so he can destroy that teams chemistry. We know LA doesn't want him, as he was the reason that Darryl Sutter was fired in SJ.

Who the hell is going to take Marleau? 36 years old, $6.7M cap hit, and two years remaining AFTER this season. The sharks would have to eat a ton of salary.
- Dgmilazz

Nobody is who, unless you want a one dimensional player as well, one who doesn't play defense.

Yeah I forgot both were UFA. No way Philadelphia approaches this deal either. Though it does give them the chance to move in on Byfuglien if they are willing to give up their 1st++.

No offense guys, but you don't know what you're talking about with David Ortiz... he's never tested positive for steroids... he's never admitted to using steroids... and he still contends to this day, that he was simply using over the counter supplements, and that even he doesn't know what he tested positive for, and they won't tell him, because the "documents are sealed." And you want to crap on him because he's a nice, likable guy?!? I know you'll never read this, but it just sucks to hear you slander the dude, when you don't have your facts straight.

And I'm not even the biggest Ortiz fan... but man, you guys are just flat out wrong.

And a C for Arkanoid?!?!?!?!

Off topic post..... There is no reason to have linesman any more. If players want to be offsides, well then go for it. The goal will just be reviewed and dissalowed anyways. Sheesh never knew goals that came off of zone entries that a marginally offsides were such a big deal. No goal, after using a micrometer on the replay we have determined that your teamare was offsides by a 1000nth of a millimeter. Violla

Two things I'd like clarified from this blog:

1) What is the definition of "at some point"? This should be clarified because as it is written, that would mean to infinity...and beyond. "at some point this season" perhaps?

2) Will there be video of the hat eating? Tilley make hats out of hemp...you may want to purchase one.

Too bad about Iggy - would have been a great solution for that "2nd line" of the Habs.

Marleau would be a good fit for the Islanders.... they need a consistent LW to play with Tavares instead of the constant rotation they tinker with. Plus, they have a lot of depth they can give in return.

You would be insane to give up KO for 36 year old Marleau and his 6.7 cap hit for the next 3 years. Bailey, Ho-Sang, and a 2nd for Marleau and 2M coming back from SJ.

Uhhh... Manny Ramirez actually tested positive... TWICE...

But still may be one of the greatest hitters ever to play the game.

The problem with vinny is father time passed him by a few years ago and he hasnt caught on yet.

The guy is in his early 30s. he is what 33-34? Most NHL players are playing close to their 40s. Age is not the problem. I honestly dont know his problem, the guy is in great shape. I have no idea what happened to him.
