Disagree. Can't be blamed for losing a game when he's the reason your there. What were they gonna do, win the cup? Had no business being there at all and it was because of him. He clearly can handle the pressure of TO, especially with what he's doing now after being ostracized. Bernier just sucks, and is wearing bigger gear this year in a desperate plea to make saves, and is even less mobile now. Reimer is a good goalie, and he will eventually start whether it's here or elsewhere... - aminnes
reimer will have his lil spurt here
then he will start letting in bad goals too..
how have you not caught onto his pattern?
he's big.. and takes up a lot of the net.. dont let that fool you for talent.

He played poorly when they handed another goalie the net after he had got them to the dance. Confidence is important for a goalie as we have seen. I think the way he has pushed through is pretty admirable. And he has had stretches of 30-40 games of good hockey in the league, more than spurts i'd say....

They "handed" the other goalie the net after Reimer got worse and worse 3 months straight, and had to be pulled multiple times in that stretch.

Wrong. 2013, October ends and Bernier has started 9 games winning 5, 5-4. Starting 5, Reimer goes 4-0. Bernier has 1 shutout, Reimer has one shutout. Bernier had a GAA of 2.27 Reimer had a GAA of 2. Bernier had a save % of .863. Reimer had a save % of .966. Bernier starts the majority of games after this. One was ready, one knew he didn't have to be... After this Reimer's confidence was shot, he knew after this nothing he did would get the net back, it was quite clear...
And like Cherry said, the only reason he got to start now is because of Bernier's injury. He was essentially poorly handled by the club, as was Bernier who didn't have to truly earn the spot, and ended up having an entitled attitude...

why do they keep going with this asshat in net over the proven stanley cup playoff gamer optimus reim?
what a (frank)ing joke
edit:nice alliteration - Skalapy
eff him, he is symptomatic of the big culture change that these losers keep saying that their going to change every year
he reminds me of Skalapy soft as slime. i rode in an elavator in tampa with he and schenn and he looked like i could snap his pencil neck with one finger
i play real hockey so i don't have to worry about this horsepoop anyway
i'm 242 lbs of shutdown defenseman who isn't afraid to drive the net and send it home with authority
Reimer was actually really good until he got his bell rung by Gomez in Montreal.
Then everyone was talking about how it looked like his timing was off. The after effects of a concussion.
Watch some highlights from 2013 when he was the bonafide starter. Leafs were outshot, outplayed, everything, and Reimer made massive saves and kept them in every game.

All he is doing is returning to form - ILoveLamp
It was Gionta.
* edit: I also blame Feschuk for calling Reimer's mother.

you're right. It was Gionta.
Either way, point stands. he had starter numbers and looked good up until that point.
I remember everyone on the board talking about how players returning from concussions always lose their timing, but it's not as bad for a d or F, as their mistakes can be covered up. Goalies are different.
