I guess I'm finding it hard to figure out the mass conspiracy that would lead someone to make up an article about players regressing after 25. But hey, I'll concede. I hope Kane scores 30+.

I'm amazed that this entire thing started over me suggesting that we might need 1 more top line player.

Are people really that insecure over Evander Kane?

I said the whole time that the data isn't necessarily wrong, but I do feel it was at least slightly "cherry picked" (not by you, but by the author of the article) to prove a point.
- HonkFortheGoose

Possibly.

I just think it's crazy how people can completely dismiss it (Not you)

I have a feeling that if I used that article for say....Tyler Myers, as a reason he will probably never become a consistent 40-50 point player, somehow it would be widely accepted

I believe we need a true top line player.

Kane is better suited as a 2nd line power forward.

?? Eichel ROR
Kane Reinhart Ennis

If you can solidify that ? with a true 40 goal (Rick Nash type) then you could have an extremely dangerous top 6

Before the season started, I felt (still do) that we needed a top 6 winger.

I definitely feel like Reinhart would be a fine setup man to spring fast players who might cheat a little towards center ice when the puck is in the D-zone.
I wouldnt rule out Murray timkering when it comes to a trade.
Either that or bring up Rodriguez and put him on a line with Eichel and lets see what happens.

It's definitely something we could use. Really, what team couldn't?

I was more or less surprised that that was true, and like I said, it may be. I just don't know that I agree with the data they provide. Especially since the normal player progression through the ranks means they've barely spent any real time in the NHL in a lot of cases.

He is legit terrible.

Without Eichel he doesn't get a pro contract

I actually think Kane will probably have a career year at 26-27 when this team is a full go. I just think consistently doing it will be the issue

Adding a pure goal scorer IMO, is 1 of 2 possible needs.

13 games and zero goals and only 2 assists. His pro career will be short.

Thing is, with these 1-way players, you want to make sure you get someone on a decent contract too. Don't want to be overpaying for someone who is only useful during his hot streaks in 1/3 of the ice. Makes the search a little tougher.

JVR would be nice but why would the leafs trade him?

I need some opinions on my dynasty team....

I have Jakob Silfverberg. He's done pretty much nothing this year. Should I be patient with him and hope he turns it around? Or do I drop him?

Maybe Bylsma is hoping that Reinhart's playmaking ability will lead to a puck going in the net off of Foligno's ass??

What's the issue? I can't find the Sabres streams anymore, it's all just the opposing teams broadcast.

I'd stay with him. So far no one on Anaheim has done anything, plus he's coming off a concussion from that Torres hit too, so you have to keep that in mind. I don't care what the team/player says in public, I've suffered a bad concussion and it took me months to even start feeling like "normal" and before that I just sat in a dark room and slept all the time. Who else do you have that you'd keep ahead of him?

Well, he's LW/RW eligible. So, that makes a lot of different guys that I could drop to keep him.

The other guy that I'm looking at that I could drop would probably be Reilly Smith. Possibly drop someone on defense instead, and if that's the case I could probably drop Leddy or Wideman.

They don't necessarily regress, but statistically speaking they don't get a lot better. Obviously there are always exceptions to the rule. Physiologically speaking the human body reaches it's peak at about 18-21 years old. You have to work much harder to just get to what you were. And it's all down hill from there. Pretty depressing isn't it?

I'm only 30 and I can already tell the difference.
