haha. It's not Glass, although that was the description from the site. It looks like someone whose last name starts with "DAJ" and it's a 2-digit number ending with (I think) a 5. I went over the all-time roster by number and can't figure it out. - jmatchett383
Actually, I say its Glass... I freaking was freeze framing it, zoomed it... I see a 1 5 or 1 2 for the numbers, not sure how a reflection works anymore after confusing the Hell out of myself. The Letters look like S S # L S. Well, a G can be close to an S in bad focus, so gotta be Glass. |

Well, let's just be glad that Tanner Glass isn't around to make things worse.
Is there a local "Tanner Glass Unappreciation" holiday in Pittsburgh? If so, I'd like to observe it this year. |

As I've said people - today's game isn't a sporting event for us it's a mind game. Let's hope our team can apply themselves the way they have been talking it up about reversing the trend, because if we go down again today it could shatter the season into little itsy bitsy pieces of brain matter!
Hopefully if it does go bad & explode, the brain matter is thrown towards the opposition net to get better Corsi numbers!!!

Here is the list of every #12 that played for the Pens:
Ken Schinkel, Blaine Stoughton, Kelly Pratt, Greg Malone, Mitch Lamoreux, Dean DeFazio, Tom O’Regan, Tom Roulston, Bob Errey, Larry Depalma, Troy Murray, Chris Wells, Richard Park, Sean Pronger, Martin Sonnenberg, Billy Tibbetts, Michal Sivek, Ryan Malone, Chris Borque, Brett Sterling, Richard Park, Jarome Iginla - chimpira
Very few quality players there. You know there is a problem when Richard Park might be the seventh best player on this list. |

I had him at 6th...but he did play twice, so he could be 6th and 7th. |

Good God not Tocchet - I have no idea what even qualifies him to be an assistant coach, other than people keep hiring him
Martin is simply an advisor at this point, say what you want about his defense - In that past, when he had the talent, his teams did score goals
I'm on the sully train, if he sucks we can always fire him too

So, no Hornqvist tonight? He practiced today, but I guess it will be to our illustrious head coach to see if he is playing. |

Coaching and defence are the problems. Johnson has taken one of the most talented offensive teams in the league and neutered them. Fire him.
Every one of your defencemen needs to either be able to hit or shoot. It is a handicap to the rest of the team having guys like Scuderi and Lovejoy taking up ice time when they can do neither. They are absolutely no threat when out there, which allows opposing teams to smother the forwards or bury them in the D zone.
The Pens have a good top pairing and good bottom pairing in Maata-Letang & Cole-Dumolin. But they need 2 mid pair D badly. - MacPatty
Defenseman literally need neither of those 2 assets to be successful, Paul Martin did neither of those well but is missed greatly. Defenseman need to be great skaters and need to be able to move the puck to be quality players in today's NHL, having a great shot or being physical are nice secondary assets but neither makes a good defenseman on their own.
PS I tend to agree that at some point Letang\Maata will be a good top pairing but right now they have been a disaster so far and are a below average 2nd pairing at best. |

Great article RW.
It was a reasonable idea of MJ to insulate the defense by playing conservative, but clearly it isn't working. We're giving up more chances this way than we would playing run and gun.
We should overload every puck and play high pressure defense rather than this passive crap. |
