I was expecting a response on the time period but think about it, if there is an injury generally speaking its for months at a clip, so the team effected by the play is potentially harmed that long for doing nothing...also if you make it 10 games, so what how many times do you see guys suspended that long and then turn around and 5 games later do it again. Also it's a way to keep player who generally don't play dirty to think twice before they board someone...just my way of thinking. Minimal penalties are not worth the paper they're written on. Also any fines levied on these players are so trivial when you look at what they make in a year so fines are worthless as far as I'm concerned. - iworkatinitech
That depends on the player. Why not make it a percentage of the players salary that year so it more the more the player is paid. Giving even more incentive for normally clean players to stay clean. |

What were they supposed to do? Go full attack on him and draw a penalty that could make them lose the game? Winning is always the first objective to the games played in the NHL. Teams that let emotion get the better of them are the teams that lose close games from bad penalties. The pens play in Minnesota Dec 26. Maybe they'll do something then. As long as they don't make a dirty play or draw a bad penalty I'll be fine with it. But its not really needed. Half bad play half bad luck. - Zac_O
Shenanigans!!! The outcome of the games is irrelevant as long as you beat on some people. Hit and fight everything that moves and you'll be a winner regardless of what the scoreboard says.

What he did happens every other game. This time a player just happened to get injured. It was a bad play but it was also equal bad luck. Pens fans get so up in arms about this but were quiet when Neal kneed a guys head. - Zac_O

No punishment for Nino by the NHL for the Maatta hit, according to Dave Molinari. |

Very mature, very classy. If I were being bias I wouldn't want a suspension. But ya why don't you just keep spouting off like you know me. That's cool to. |

Sooo.....
any correlation to the firing of one of the top head coach options being fired the same week Johnston is in hot water? Conspiracy theorists, where are you? |

My bad I forgot we were cheering the the board street bullies. Haha. (That was before my time so I hope I'm using them as a proper reference) |

It is kind of uncanny. He was supposed to leave after the end of the season but was dismissed. Scarface for HC! |

I hope someone launches Nino into the boards from behind. Every time Pens play the Wild one of their players has an egregious cheap shot. Last year it was Suter's elbow on Downie. |

Yes because they knew the refs were going to call that weak slashing penalty so they should have drawn a penalty right away. Come on man. Did you think when typing that or just hurry up and do it? - Zac_O
They should have known that anything against Nino was going to be treated as retaliation, so you either do something worthwhile or you do nothing. Instead they landed in the middle and paid the consequences anyways. I think you are the one confused because you made an argument that the Pens handled the situation correctly by not retaliating and taking a bad penalty, but they did exactly that. |
