Call that slight slash with some embellishment but not a dirty cross check to injure a guy? NHL refs at their best.
Edit: Crosscheck Boarding checking from behind. You pick. |

What the hell, the refs are trying to get the Wild back into this...come on, this is insane! Yet no boarding on the Maatta play! Interesting |

Nah, more than just the breathe... Maybe a stinger on the leg... midsection bruised... but NOT the shoulder unless they decided to help him off the ice in the dumbest way possible. - Guile
I'm probably just hoping. But ya youre probably right. |

Perron's was a penalty. No doubt about it there. - Pens_Burgh
How so? Perron can go into the crease if the puck is there and it was. He almost scored on the play. He didn't unnecessarily push off. |

I'll take hyperextended or bone bruised something in the leg... out ~2weeks. Not the shoulder, or our dreaded concussion (or high ankle sprain of years past). |

That's all true, but in the process he plowed the defenseman right into the goalie. He even knew it was a penalty as the first thing he did was look at the ref. He didn't even argue that one. |

We should totally trade malkin after this game while his value is at its highest... |

Why wait? Trade him in the intermission so he doesn't have a bad third and lower his value. |

Never to young for back issues. It just depends on your body type. Dont think Maatta has the body type for it though. |

And the forward has every right to go to that area if the puck is there. That's on the dman to not be in that position- not the forward. |

My first thought was that Maatta hit his back off the part of the door that was just opened. With the way he needed help it seemed like a back thing but who knows. |

Looked like his right leg to me the way he was carried off. |

Agreed! Love that Jeremy Roenick is all over this non-call, and calling Nino out on it!
I think you make a statement, not responding as team means that the culture hasn't changed! |

I'm all for good clean hits but something like that, away from the play, player already falling down should be a statement suspension...I think 10-20 games to make it a point to get it into the players heads that you can't do this crap!
But at worst it might warrant a fine in this contradictory NHL product. |

It could be but the replay I watched showed his low back/pelvis getting crunched to me. Yet no call? WTF?

He'll get a game or two. Maatta will get 6 weeks to a year of rehab. |
