Fire the coach.

Dump a winger for a defenseman who can move the puck.

- BINGO!

You might be joking but this is what needs to happen. But not just a winger. Trade a winger a d-man and a prospect so they can get someone decent.

The problem is that the Golden Boy/face of the franchise is what keeps the casual fan and rich suits in the seats. Sure the diehards are more concerned with winning but we are unfortunately in the minority and the NHL is a business first. They will make make the decisions that make the most financial sense and that means continuing to cater to your meal tickets.

Yeah, that is so very sad. I have never been to CEC, but the crowds look/feel lifeless. I have heard about people leave half-way through the 3rd period of a 1-goal game. Maybe they just don't have the faith in the on-ice product, but I think they are just lame-ass fans.

Grief has a multi faceted but predictable pattern. The anger stage can be clearly seen in spontaneous, unpredictable, emotional outbursts.

It is an essential stage that always proceeds acceptance. In this case, most Pens fans realize, but do not yet fully accept this is no longer an elite team. The competitive window of opportunity is near closed. Fan anger is clearly measurable. But, also, the hurt, the sense of loss, not unlike the loss of close friend is near the surface. But, we don't understand the depth of our sadness so we allow ourselves to be angry rather than feel the more painful hurt of the loss.

If they are uncoachable the problem is more than sid and they would need to move 3-5 guys. That is blowing up the team. Not something you do when the talent is there but effort isn't.
- Zac_O

No team is uncoachable. Just need the right coach.

Someone should start a "Have you hugged a Pens fan lately?" campaign.

Wow, that is kind of cheap ... are there hidden fees on top of that $5.99?

DP has 10 points in 12 games... has he improved at all since the beginning of the year or still inconsistent?
- j.boyd919

He's playing solid as an AHL D-Man, prob above average. But honestly with his perceived pedigree, he should be lighting up the opposition which he isn't, at least not as much as he was last season here in WBS. He is surrounded by much better talent though so he doesn't have to carry the team on his shoulders as much either.

Perhaps he's ready to move back up, but I really have been expecting more out of him. More drive and eagerness to make the point that he in no way in hell should be in the AHL at this point.

Did anyone see thet fake LeBrun twitter account last night? Something along the lines of "Deal being worked out between WPG and PITT with Big Buff for Kunitz and a 2nd". Many people had some heart palpitations

Well said!

I think your assessment of the situation is pretty good. Those who are angry about what is happening are far closer to the truth than those who deny the reality.

The really hard part is not if they win enough games to make the playoffs. It is the recognition that they will not ever soar to the heights of the magic they displayed only a few years ago.

Rage on!

Thank you. I actually feel better that someone outside of Pens fanbase sees my pain. That said, I would rather see them not soar with talent that is deemed mediocre rather than supposedly "best in the world" one.

Here is a potential trade:

To Pittsburgh: Dustin Byfuglien, 2016 2nd round pick

To Winnipeg: Patrick Honqvist, Sergei Plotnikov, and a conditional 3rd round pick (if Byfuglien resigns)

Sure, you can grab any Patrick Honqvist we have as long as we get to keep Patric Hornqvist.

Lemieux ran Scotty Bowman off the ice in practice. Its a cultural make up of the Pens. How many good teams are on their 4th coach in 6 years?
- sammy87

Madden insists this is not true. He said Bowman wanted to go home (in Buffalo) when possible between games. So he wasn't around for practice. He says that's the real story......FWIW.

Usually you make inane trade proposals, but I have to admit that one is fairly realistic.

Before the pens trade for players they should do the inevitable and fire the coach. So the new coach can get a say in the player to make sure he fits his system.
