Last night it was mentioned to me about Daley, it was because he was a LHD with a cap hit for this year and next that isn't bad , that's all. I'm not saying he's coming here just it was mentioned, nothing more.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that a lot of the guys here are still learning how to play with one another and get to know each other's tendencies.

Perhaps im a little more optimistic but i don't think 3 on 3 is an actual issue. They are missing their 3 best 3-on-3 players. Kane, Bogo, and lehner.


If the first two are in the lineup risto doesn't play 28 mins in regulation and look dead tired in OT. If Kane's there, does Larsson even see 3-on-3 time?

I get the feeling that Larsson isn't out there so much to score as he is to try and disrupt the other team.

But I think you're right, and I agree. It should help. The major mistake they made during the 3 on 3 was not allowing Johnson to freeze the puck when they got caught out there. They were in full panic mode and just throwing themselves all over the place which had him really disrupted as well. There was no rhyme or reason to what they were doing.

Hard to implement when you don't have your best players available for it. I really like what the leafs do though. Basically maintain possession and change one at a time to keep things fresh.

They've only gone to OT twice, and while neither time was particularly pretty they need a little time to settle in, just like at the beginning of the season when Bylsma was playing everyone everywhere, he seems to (thankfully) calmed down a bit. They just need to find out who to play where and with whom.

Yeah, ties might be a tad unsatisfying, but it beats the hell out of a shootout which to be honest I was a proponent of in the beginning, but there really is no "good" way to pick a winner without doing continuous OT. I'd go 7 minutes 4 on 4 and then a tie. The 3 point games need to go away too, but that'll never happen because the league wants/needs the late, close races; which are exciting, but it's all artificial. You know someone is going to miss out by 1 point, or even a tie-break, and that's deflating for a team.

Bogosian and Neuvirth are both easier to spell than syncophant.
