This has been my whole concern.

If you look at the successful teams like Chicago or LA, they always youth in the pipeline ready to step up when someone leaves or is traded.

Chicago has basically traded or lost an entire team between cups 1 and 3

- sbroads24

And it's legit, but the good part is that overall we're a young team so we've got time to restock the cupboards a bit and they're not exactly bare at the moment. They went from overflowing to having a bit of space. It's not a dire situation. We're by no means NJ or Pit in terms of prospect pool.

Is Dater and James Tanner same thing?
- TheIronSheik

More Clouts. Tamsey Tan Tan doesn't claim to have any insider information with the Yotes. Clouts used to toss out trade targets and what hes hearing from his sources.

Dater is the same, just talks out of his ass when it comes to rumours and hockey knowledge.

Said Barrie was not an NHL Dman
Said Chaisson is a going to be a 70pt man
Said David Jones is untradable bc he has a NTC, which he didn't and was traded 2 days later.
So many more hockey nuggets from him

Hes an idiot

TM's got a scouting background. I question his trades all the time but i've had no reason to question the drafting yet (probably because it's early but still.)

Watched a bit of both Guhle and Martin in the last week, i really like what i've seen from both.

- Sabresfan-365

I question it when he thinks Robin Lehner is a more important piece than Travis Konecny or Colin White.

Remember 2007? When we lost our top 2 centers and had mediocre drafting for years.

He had to have his boy Lehner.

Oh in that sense yea but i classify that as trading and less about his drafting ability. I've been impressed with most of his picks so far.

Then he's dumber than i thought. He thought he'd be the long term #1C here? I think he just wanted a more important role (you know the C and all that).

Bylsma loves him, his ice time won't be threatened by the addition of another top 6 forward which im guessing ROR would welcome since he spent last night playing with Gionta and Moulson

- Sabresfan-365

not long term, but chance to be Number 1C. He is going to anchor that position until Eichel is ready, even if its just 2 seasons, he has a better shot with the Sabres to get that role, PP, PK, etc.

He would always be a platoon 2C with Duchene behind MacKinnon so there was no way he was going to accept being a sometimes 2C

We needed a goalie. Would you have liked the idea of going into this season with Chad Johnson and one of Makarov, Lieuwen, or Ullmark as the #1?

And the guys that got moved other than Lehner are all older and not producing all that well either.

He writes for Bleacher Report now since thats the only place that would hire him.

My favourite is when he said Report: Stasty to the Leafs looks to be real and could happen at the deadline. He wrote a Denver Post article about this right after he favourited a tweet from the HockeyyInsidder saying Leafs Stastny trade looks close.

All happening in a 30min window

We all have that one guy. I mean if you believe he's as good as Murray thinks he is giving a 1st is fair value. Problem is he's probably one of a handful of people who thinks so.

Still two left imo. top 6 winger and and lefty to play with risto. You can get one at the draft (pick or trade) but at some point they'll have to "empty the cupboard" one more time.

It's the drawback of a scorched earth rebuild. When i look at the toronto bluejays rebuild, it's remarkable just how many big trades involving a plethora of prospects had to be moved just to put together an ALCS worthy team (granted baseball is a little different but there are lots of comparable areas between the jays rebuild and ours).

- Sabresfan-365

I'm not so sure if he'll go the BIG trade route. I could see them grab a UFA with their available cap space next summer. This way you hang onto the kids.

He'll definitely have a more important role here, but adding another top 6 forward would not change his value to the team. If anything it would help it. You don't trade that many assets and give a 7.5X7 contract to a guy just to gradually diminish his ice time and special teams opportunities.

Lenner better be the next Ken Dryden. I just think that maybe our #1 isn't Lenner but possibly someone else.

That's where you and I differ in opinion. IMO, we are not nearly good enough yet to be a player in UFA without it hurting our team long term.

I don't disagree, you are building around him and his 200ft game. And thats what he wanted, to be the go to guy, to be a team leader, etc. Hes going to get that with the Sabres. Its going to be Eichel ROR that will carry the team going forward.

We don't have the assets to make a big trade, unless it's including someone like Girgensons or McCabe, which I don't really think males any sense to do.

Talbot also stinks. I hope that the Oilers are not the measuring stick you use for any sort of success. Regardless, Lehner is damaged goods, sucks and won't help you.

Bingo. Perhaps Duchene was a bad example but i think they need to add one more. they can't do it all on their own.

Our 1st round pick this year. Ullmark potentially. Wouldn't rule out McCabe if it lands them a top 2 guy. Ditto Girgensons.

Alright gang, so hey... Joe Sacic looks like he's kickin the tires around the league to see what he can get for Matt Duchene?

And word is asking price is a top 4 d-man, a high draft pick, and another player? If I'm TM, Im all over this!

Bagosian, Webber, and next yr's first rd pick to Col, for M. Duchene.

- SuperCat

There it is.

Colorado would definitely accept that. Well done.
