The overwhelming bottom line on the Duchene rumors is the Sens would have to give a D-man --- the D-man I'd target if I'm Sakic is Ceci, although with E. Johnson, Barrie both right shot D-men (not to mention NZ coming over from Buffalo) a left hand shot top 4 would be preferably. That's where Cowen or Wiercioch would make more sense

The Sens have 2 young centers that are 200 foot players, physical, with offensive upside. Both can be strong #2 centers going forward: Zibanejad, Lazar.

Zadorov is a LHS shot you mook, and they have Bigras as a LHS in the system too.
I agree Ceci is what they would want as a RHS, they have no interest in your junk LHS dmen when they have better guys in the system than Cowen and Wiercoich plus currently Beauchemin and Gormley. Stop talking out of your ass already and think it though before you post

you have to be one of the most sensitive bloggers on here... don't you get it yet... people get to post what they want, don't like it, don't comment on it.

As far as Zadorov, that's right he is a left shot. Weircioch has proven much more than Gormley at this point; especially with what he did this year. Beauchemin is good but neither him or Johnson are top pairing D-men on a contender- EJ maybe with a solid #1 - not to mention FB has limited time left in his career.

I don't get it, Barrie already brings what Ceci brings. Two concluding points on this topic - one, the Avs won't get a top D man from ottawa - and likely not from another team - and secondly, Duchene without playing with good forwards isn't a star #1 center on a contending team so don't place that kind of value on him

No just use your brain 1 time on this site. There was a deal b/w the Sens and Avs at the deadline last year Weircioch for McGinn. The internet is not that hard, look it up. The avs are not going to trade duchene for him and spare parts. He isn't that good for crying out loud (and has looked terrible this season compared to his decent 20-25 game stretch lear year), And Cowen is a 3rd pairing dman, he is a total reclaim project and has little to no value

Just think it through one time and you won't look like such a fool with your trade proposals. And what you don't realize is that trading unwanted crap on the sens isn't going to give you a Centre thats better than Turris. sen fans like you are now worse than Leaf fans in their hay day, at least they realize they need to rebuild now and the Bozak 2nd isn't going to grab them top players.

Now argue with me how Greening and Cowen and you dumpster fire parts are good players. Ill wait

They keep on tossing cowen out there like a solution. Avs have a terrible LHS dman in Holden on the roster already. At least he puts up points. Cowen is terrible, doesn't put up points, and has a stupid hair cut.

Why the hell does Cowen makes so much sense when they have a better version of Cowen already on their team.

He gets more ice time and is worse than Holden, no swedish style hair cut could even save that horse face from looking good.

Cowen is junk, and sen fans who think hes Chara before Chara became Chara (AlfieisKing isone of them) they are just delusional

Right. Because other teams proven players are worthless.

But our pick which is very unlikely to be 1st overall is priceless.

You seem like the type of poster that thought kessel would bring back ekblad, Huberdeau and 2 1sts. Amirite?

You seem like the type of poster that wants to overpay just like they did with Kessel.
Nylander and the Leafs first, plus, oh brother.

1) didn't know that mcginn was on the table and that would be a terrible deal
2) bcuz... after that deadline Weircioch was a solid top 4D down the stretch - went on to have a huge playoffs - then went onto winning gold at the WHC
3) the point there is - he's not the D-man Avs were close to getting then. His confidence is the issue right now, he's in a funk. Do I want to trade him? it's all relative to who's coming back
4) Cowen has the potential. I've said that more than enough times. your assessment on him is a good one. I agree with it all except that a change of scenery wouldn't do him good.. I believe it's a good risk
5) The spare parts included Zibanejad or Lazar - both projected top 6F
6) Turris > Duchene right now. Looks like we all say foolish stuff

And there lacks the issue with your assessment of the whole situation. You act like you are trading for a 2nd line C. Duchene is not a 2nd like C, he is a premium top line Center (under contract and going into his prime years).

He isn't even being shopped, that has already been stated by Sakic and the actual people who cover the Avs and not the hack Dater who got fired last year and is trying to regain notability in the NHL. So we are just spinning our wheels here since Dutch isn't being shopped, the whole thing is just a once notable beat writer trying to get his name back into the spot light. (never mind he has a history of reporting false trade rumours about the Avs in the past)

You need to get your eyes checked. I never said the leafs should make a trade like this at this time. For the very reason that it costs to much.

You just keep buying those $2 lotto tickets thinking they are worth a million.

Oh so your opinion is gold but mine is useless, don't be so condescending.
I don't think he's worth a potential 1st overall, you have a problem with that?
And i'm fairly certain the Leafs won't trade that pick for him.

its been a frustrating day. TSN guys keep on quoting Dater who is a fired Beat Writer as their source, but when the actual Denver Post and guys who cover the team day in and day out have quotes from Sakic saying its not true, they ignore it.

Its just a media circus bc the Avs are on a Eastern Road trip. Roy in Boston, Montreal, and Toronto having to deal with this sells.

Thats how I see it

well thats a no brainer, no one today is worth a 1st overall pick (to be fair McDavid and Eichel are worth more lol . If a team who are not at the least a playoff bubble team should not be trading their 1st overall pick unless its protected, especially with he new lottery rules.

Getting a Top 5 pick is worth so much more than it did compared to 10 years ago. Prospects are better and more NHL ready plus in a cap era, getting a prime ELC talent makes or breaks a franchise if they are rounding into contention
