But i'm judging it by their play this year.
Morgan is playing a hell of a lot better, Duchene seems to be leveling off.

Well they took their time.

In reality... IMO the reason why Rielly isn't getting PP minutes is because the Leafs are pumping up Phaneuf's value. They are giving him PP time and 5v5 minutes vs worse players.

The Kadri-JVR-Komarov line has actually been very good the last 6 games....or all season even. Kadri's just not converting on all the shots he's taken, and that doesn't count all the posts he's hit. I'm confident that this line will all start to score like crazy soon.

A players value can be boosted by being used in different situations or being given more time PP/PK etc

does a coach do this intentionally so the team can trade them and get a better return..very doubtful
