My Lord, when did this guy get so overrated? He's not even a 1st line centre.

It never worked in the past, because the right moves were never made.
Saying it wont work moving forward is complete BS.

Also, there is no "true and proper" way to build....take your time with your prospects, but every GM in every league knows you have to jump on opportunities if they are made available.

Again if it doesnt cost the farm.....heck even use the pens first.
It is well worth it.

Kessel wasn't the problem, It's what they gave up that was the problem.

No guarantee of any of that happening.
He could sign, he might not sign, he could be traded, might not be traded, he could sign with another team, he could sign with the leafs. One could easily happen just as much the other.
No one knows right now.
I cant see the bolts letting him walk for nothing....but it could happen.
He also could be traded as a rental and then test FA come the summer....it could happen.

He was a good scorer with no heart.

Matt is a much different player.....again if it doesnt cost the farm....look into it and make a pitch...if it does.....then dont do it.

But a smart team looks at all that is available.

I don't want to see any big trades....we need to keep our young assets....Duchene is great, but we have our own young great controllable talent that I rather see become key components of the big club first before we go looking for that missing piece to put us over the top.

I also think Duchene isn't a very good center. Like Stamkos.
