Why do we think JVR has value but we hate Tyler Bozak.

Bozak has 7 pts. in 12 games, JVR has 8 in 16. JVR has a slightly higher cap hit. Bozak at least brings something besides points to the team and appears to be putting in some effort.

The longer they go without dumping JVR, the lower the return. They should have dumped him in the off-season

Secondly, JVR's numbers overall the last few years are better. It's not just about this small sample size.

I honestly don't think you can find any gm who would rather have Bozak than JVR.

Froese had a shift last night - a give away at our blue line - 2nd give away and then a trip behind our net...luckily no call....I was thinking if they call that he'll be buried in the minors

I think they really wanted to trade Phil. The issue with Stamkos seems to be from Tampa's end. they want him to play the wing (Which seems odd and I can't see why he'd agree to that), and, just like Cherry said, they really had him playing more of a secondary role in the playoffs last season.

We're also hearing ziltch about the contract. It should have been done in the summer. Yzerman even said it would be his #1 priority right after the finals ended.

JVR is a guy you can plug into a top 6 role and in the right situation he'll get you 25-30 goals. that's valuable today. i don't believe he has lost value with his decline in production the last 12 months but i also don't think he was ever as good/valuable as a lot of people made him out to be prior to that.

Polak took a couple hits last night...if it had been Gard's they would've needed to call the morgue.

Bozak is seen as a guy who was forced into a top spot-and his numbers were exaggerated as a result by playing with Kessel.
