The 3rd worst team got Mcdavid. And the odds are tougher now for the bottom-feeders. There was never a lock the 29th or 30th place team was getting Matthews.

And the Leafs ARE as bad as everyone said. They issue is they have the best coach in the entire NHL.

Finally a good (albeit boring) game by the leafs, and Reimer finally didnt allow a completely horrendous goal. He played very well.
Good job.

Justin williams.....loves taking goals away from ov.

He said he should be up for selke for shutting ov down so much, takes 2 goals away from him last couple games.

- burn

I wonder why nobody is saying Sid's career is over for this poor start, unlike everybody eviscerating OV and saying he was done when he only scored 38 goals. ONLY

stop bringing facts into this spousal blindness influenced argument.

the big big BIG question... is that now that lil Jonny has returned from his broken (whatever)... but says himself (covering his own ass again) that he's not really 100%...

1) does Babboner stick him in net and achieve total team Buzzkill?
2) does Babboner make the sensible and honorable decision to play Reimer because he's giving the team a chance to win?
3) when Bernier poops the bed - and he will (of course it won't be his fault) does Babboner have the cahones to replace him Optimus (yes we have to bring back the nick-name)?

Babcock managed Marazec and Howard last year quite nicely. No reason to believe he can't manage to make the right choice about goalies in Toronto.

Even though we all KNOW that lil Jonny is far far superior - because the stats say so (APPARENTLY) - just ignore that whole win-loss and arrogant wienerhead/nice guy thing.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Actually up until this season, his leafs stats were better than Reimers. Why is this so hard to comprehend?
Why are people still hung up on the Reimer/Bernier thing? Neither are our future number 1, Reimer is finally playing better this season which is good to see.
Enjoy this little winning streak and quit whining or being a baby.

I think the Leaf will choose Tkachuk in the upcoming draft.

I said this fall, Reimer will have better numbers than Bernier

I also said that it will take at least 30 games to see what this team is capable of within Babcock's system...and this team will not finish last

Also love that his +/- goes up and people say it's because Trotz has him playing more defense and buying into the system blah blah...yet nobody mentions that year he was like +40 and Mike Green/Schultz were +50

I guess the main take away from the game should be the Leafs didn't lose because they had Remier in net - because Bernier right?

I mean Reimer only came out with the win last night because he got such huge goal support to cover up all his flaws... because you know Bernier's a number 1 ... did you know Bernier was even drafted in the first round? wow - awesome.

Perhaps we uninformed non-Bernier fans should listen to Babcock more... I guess he'll tell us when Reimer has played well and when he hasn't. I don't think he mentioned anything about the horrendous goals that Reimer gave up on previous games ... because perhaps during those same games he made enough other says to give the team a chance to win.

heck... couldn't be that. ya - know ... because Bernier.

and I really hope Bernier gets the goal support got in Dallas and Nashville that Reimer got.. cause it was HUGE.

Welcome to HB and Leafs nation.
Selective stats and facts.
Im sure Sid will turn it around as well.

But man OV can score...about to take over as the Leading Russian goal scorer of all time in half as many games

Yeah, keeping the puck out of our net and scoring a few more goals would really suck.

I just need to understand this completely - please help me mature on this topic.

Do Reimer's stats this year count when doing the comparison AND
Do we include Bernier's from this year in the stats as well? Or do you only include Bernier's stats when they are good?
Does the meaningless win-loss stat not count?
Will Bernier's stats in his next start not count because he's still kind of injured?

just trying to understand.

Uh?
I dont understand stupidity? Can you translate?
The leafs played a sound game last night, so did Reimer. The preds missed the net on almost every powerplay shot they took in OT....the leafs won.

Will the team ever get credit for a win this year? Or will it just be the specific goalie?

we can only hope ... because ...

a) tank is good
b) he'll crap the bed AGAIN
c) and we already know the excuse - he wasn't quite over his injury.

This must be killing him that Reimer is doing good.

Not hard to understand.
Up until this season, our average goalie Bernier's stats were better than our average goalie Reimer's. However, this season Reimer has played much better (outside of the one horrible goal per game which didnt occur last night) and stats are reflective of that. Good for him. If he keeps winning, you keep him in....just like the coaching staff has done for the past several years. Go with the goalie who is performing better.
easy to comprehend.

I would honestly doubt it. Like we all hate Dion right? But we still want the team to do well. Don't think hating a player trumps seeing your team do well.

Could be wrong though.

well it would seem - that the team would definitely get the credit when Reimer is in net... and we'll have to wait to find out if that is the case when and if they get a win with Bernier in net.
