Well I guess the point I am trying to make is, you can name a couple (under 10) that worked out well until the end, where there are way more that dont work til the end or maybe even in the second year (like the 6 year deals for Leino and Hodgson or maybe even Erhroff which I though was good deal he just wanted out).

Patrice Bergeron...I bet Boston wished they would have signed him to a longer contract than a bridge deal at the time. 3 year $5 million per at age 26 turned into an 8 year $55 million contract at age 29

They already conceded to the 7 year UFA/RFA deals if rights aren't owned for previous year and 8 year deals.
