Not to mention the Milwauke Admirals are a rental car and 90 min ride north.

Could get 3 games of scouting in among 6 different teams in a weekend

Exactly.

Also, Grand Rapids is a longer drive from Chicago, but not out of reach by any means. There's another AHL city that connects to the Rosemont/Milwaukee/Rockford group of teams.

Maybe a language issue but, if not, WRONG day for a cheap shot like that. Go embed yourself in one of those "refugee" camps for a few weeks and you may learn "from what".

This is a day primarily honoring THE FALLEN as well as those living who have served.

Keep that in mind if you intend to respond with another cheap political remark followed by "this is a hockey board after all" to stifle any blow back.

Yes, there might be lost in translation a bit and I was not intentionally cheap shoting anyone. I don´t know what day you are celebrating today but I´m really curious to know what is or what have threaten your country, families or values? And this might be wrong board for that discussion.

I'll weigh in here...

In the United States, it's Veteran's Day. It's meant as a day of remembrance of soldiers who have served the United States military.

Granted, it's not a hockey topic, but there are plenty of Military Veterans who post here, and plenty more who didn't serve that feel the need to highlight this point.

As long as it doesn't devolve into a political argument, I'm perfectly fine with those that would like to make a post pertaining to appreciation and remembrance of those who served.

Did you ever consider that he may be from a country or region of the world that has no context of this, and that English may not be their first language?

Give the guy a break.

Believe it or not, not every country does things the same way. Should you be asked to crawl from under a rock because you don't know what Itsenäisyyspäivä means?

No but someone who cared could easily do a quick internet search which often gives a lot of answers very easily. (not defending the rock comment btw just pointing out something).

Thanks for posting about Itsenäisyyspäivä. I never knew one of my close relatives shared a birthday with a country's independence.

As long as there is a hockey related subject matter in the post, I see nothing wrong with a short comment of appreciation/support for war veterans today.

sooo I assume Mashinter will be in the lineup Saturday

The trigger finger probably getting itchy in Calgary now. They have all but blown a playoff spot already.

Bickell won't help unless its a way to dump a comparable salary player they don't want or to get something plus Bickell for one of their UFA to be's.

- RickJ

I'm hearing a fire sale situation there is coming with vets..

Bottom line is what you said..The team taking Bickell has to be a believer.
Chatter I heard involved David Jones...Same cap hit but this is the last year of his deal.

The location is definitely a good bang for your buck with the Hogs and Wolves playing so close together. I wonder how many other two team pairs are as close or closer. Can't be many if any.
- stljam

And the other AHL teams in Michigan and Wisconsin...plus Ohio and Iowa=6 teams.

They either target this area or the East Coast.

David Jones has 6 goals already this season. Big body with decent wheels/nose for the net. He would be a nice depth forward addition for sure

With the way the divisions and the AHL schedule is set up, I'd have to believe that the new Californian teams make up yet another region - with teams within close proximity - as another area to frequently scout.

Yes 5 teams out there but East coast clubs would rather not spend the money to travel that far unless a must...actually the same with every team.

Beat writers reporting that TT was not on the ice at the end of practice ... something developing ... or just something incidental?

I get that, but the Californian teams play a shorter schedule, and rarely travel outside of their own division.

So I have to believe that if a team wants to scout those five clubs, it would be necessary to make a swing through California.

Hah. Maybe time to make some moves and open up some room?

Mark Lazerus ‏@MarkLazerus 2m2 minutes ago
It's getting crowded in the #Blackhawks room. Brandon Mashinter's "locker" was a dented metal folding chair in the middle of the floor.

Which also means it will be Bickell +...Not only Bickell and that is probably true of any deal involving him.

IIRC McNeill was thought to be the most NHL ready of forwards drafted that year.

Ran across this at Sportsnet and agree 100% with Spector that the greatest position in all of sport is being taken over by 6ft 5in guys with barely any NHL talent: Why it’s time to call NHL goaltenders’ bluff http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...ll-nhl-goaltenders-bluff/

Also, sometimes they find retired players already living out there.
That's the way it is with SJ and Graham.
