The cap is the biggest problem this team has. Hexy is stuck. Until the bad money is gone...there will be very little change in this team.

Point out how little Raffl and Voracek have produced despite getting huge amounts of ice time - get attacked with a gay slur.

They can trade anyone at any time they want to free up cap space. There's numerous things they can do. There's no such thing as a cap problem only cap solutions.

All the dead money was brought in by the guy who is still currently employed by this franchise as a President. Tells you what a mess the front office is. An 80+ year old mettling owner overseeing a good old boys network. Great recipe for success.

I'll say that they at least look competitive. If they had our goaltending they wouldn't be any where near as bad as their current record.

Our guys seem completely unmotivated. It's mid November and it looks like they've quit already.

Good. Then we should be able to get him for Simmonds + Laughton. My original proposal, which was generally deemed not enough to get such an elite player.
- TheGreat28

Nope. #1 rated prospect in hockey on sites before this draft. Would you trade him for a 2/3 line tweener and a 3c?

Pretty much, but on a truly top team, he slots better as the 3C.
- BiggE

The endless 2C/3C argument is so pointless. He is the teams best shutdown center and will be playing against the other teams best line. His icetime will reflect that. There really arent lines 1-4 anymore in the NHL on most teams. Bringing in a C that will be relied on more to score doesnt necessarily make Couturier a 3C. He will still be counted on defensively.

Couturier has shown that he and his linemates are able to generate positive possession and I believe they were one of the best lines last night at keeping the play in the offensive zone.

Hextall actually can make moves. There is no need in hanging on to Read, Schenn, Simmonds, etc., etc. This is the same group that cant get it done. Cant get up for games. Consistently lacks heart. Hexy can make deals with quite a few players that have trade value and make the team better..... Why wait for the propects when the "core" isnt good enough anyways? Its a bad mix of forwards and the defense is atrocious.

How would you like people to refer to the lines if not with numerics? By the centers? So we can't call Giroux a number one center because that would imply his line is the first line?

We going with letters or colours now?

Does getting rid of Holmgren get rid of all the bad contracts? No? Okay then what is the big deal. There were a couple of moves that really screwed the team in its current state, but he did a lot of good for the organization. What if Pronger doesn't get hurt and what if the salary cap doesn't collapse?

But if you gut the team for draft picks and prospects then you have to rush the prospects and they'll be ruint without the pixie dust.

You guys just don't think these things through. You're reactionaries is what you are... reactionaries. You need to be more reaction"fairies". Get the dust back in the equation like good little lemmings.

Flat footed, no or lack of effort, slow starting etc.... Is the coach just way out of his league? Does this team need new leadership? How many season and coaches has this been going on. It is sad that professional athletes do these things on a regular basis. This team is very hard to watch or even like.
- LJF

by the time giroux is 35 years old this team will contend for the playoffs, they just need us to be patient.
