I don't think it's gonna be THAT bad.
But, we have money tied up in bad players, so yeah, it's gonna be bad. |

Eddie needs to get off his lounge chair in Ca. and hire a new president who is not a former Flyer and a skating coach - vejim
Ed Snider can hire Scotty (frank)ing Bowman in his prime and it won't matter unless you remove the $14+ million of terrible, awful contracts from the books. |

I would stop playing Vinny immediately and get a kid from the AHL up here for starters. There is no reason someone should continue to get ice time solely because the size of their contract. |

I don't know what the answer is, quite frankly. |

Every time someone throws the "Giroux isnt elite" line out there I have to wonder if they are just ignoring his stats over the past 5 years. At the end of the season he will be what he is which is a slightly higher or a point per game player. In todays game that's a top line player.
Voracek has the ability to play at the level he did last year he just doesnt have the confidence right now. After those two their is such a drop off in talent.
Schenn is producing at a solid level. Couturier is valuable to the team in other ways but inst producing.
After those 4 players you literally have no one doing anything from a forward perspective. Nothing abrasive, no speed, no higher end talent.. it's brutal. |

They just look really super hesitant out there, which makes them appear even slower than they are, in terms of foot speed. |

After all the rain we got yesterday, a pond is exactly what I've got in my backyard this AM. |

Hextall actually can make moves. There is no need in hanging on to Read, Schenn, Simmonds, etc., etc. This is the same group that cant get it done. Cant get up for games. Consistently lacks heart. Hexy can make deals with quite a few players that have trade value and make the team better..... Why wait for the propects when the "core" isnt good enough anyways? Its a bad mix of forwards and the defense is atrocious. - GOA88
I do feel the same somewhat.
Yes he does have movable pieces with value, and he wants to build properly.
But again, tearing it up to acquire all young players will not improve things.
I'm just not a fan of the "please be patient while we stink"
There has to be some middle ground between that, and the way Holmgren did it, (throwing away most of his picks for instant temporary success).
I just don't understand how Snider is accepting this, he praised the long term plan, then said "but we can still compete as well". |

I really don't get the outrage. This team was gonna suck. Everybody knew it. Yet each time they lose a game, it's the end of the world all over again. This must be what life as a Leafs fan feels like, lol. - Tomahawk

I know. The problem is expectations. Many in here have expectations that are too high. They are not wild card team. Never were gonna be. Snider/Hexy deserve some blame for putting those expectations out there so that their seen as a colossal disappointment. They beed to take the Toronto approach to it and be up front about it. But they are in the business of making money down at Wells Fargo which Toronto could never have a problem with so I get that.
Look at how the team was projected by national writers, etc. No one had them sniffing the playoffs. Not one

We have maybe 2 players on this team that can skate with the puck. Dump an chase isnt working for this group either because we do not win the battles on the boards. Trade Simmonds |

- 3flyerkids
Hes not on that contract yet
Why wait to see if he does it again. Pay him at the pinnacle of the bell curve
Really I think he'll be alright
