Yesterday was probably not a good game for him overall. Made a couple real bonehead plays.

In general though, I don't have a problem with him on the team.

Would imagine WGR is pissed at losing out on the ad revenue, shopp or bulldog always going on about their teams - doubt it's for free.

Personally, I don't mess with those things, but can see why it would be a bummer.

I've made a decent amount of cash over last two years playing, hoping what they have been saying about fighting it and it will continue here are true.

The attorney General's reasoning is shaky at best.

And I, like you, don't mess with it either.

Fantasy sites are not going anywhere. NYS has determined that fantasy is a game of skill and is not gambling it has been that way for years and isnt going to change now. The AG is just trying to get press.... only problem is he does not realize how popular dfs is and he just pissed off 500k NYers. Supreme court will reverse his decision. Plus i won $150 last night

These companies will move out of NY costing state millions in tax revenue. Typical nys democrats stifling business and telling us what's good for us.

No they won't. AG is gonna get reveresed. New York state has said that it is legal because they have determined it is a game of skill not gambling. I promise it isnt going anywhere. If it does it will be 2-3 years down the road, because thats how long all the appeals will take. Gamble on my friends

The only shaky aspect of the reasoning in the part that says traditional fantasy football is not gambling. Neither of those games takes any greater skill - as distinguished from luck - than playing a respectable hand of poker.

And nobody should suggest that poker isn't gambling.

Hi I'm the attorney general. You can't play DFS it's gambling and bad for you so we are banning it. Oh don't forget to buy your mega million tickets for tonight lottery though.

Eh. I would think the ability to use public information and manipulate it in a certain way to your benefit takes more "skill". I would argue that fantasy sports is more similar to investing in the stock market than it is a game like poker.

I really enjoy it. This is my last year of full season FF. I put in $25 and I can play in $.25 leagues all year. Granted you don't win a lot of cash in those but it is still enjoyable.

You can put 6 different lineups in a week at a $.25 "game" puts you at $25.50 for 17 weeks.

You are also not stuck like me having 90% of your roster on IR in a full season mode.

My favorite argument is poker is a game of skill.

Ok.

You get dealt pocket Kings.
Me 2,9.

I go all in and you call.

Flop is 2,9,Q
Turn is a A
River is a 9

I just out "Skilled" you.

So I didn't hear any of the broadcast. I watched the game at a bar with no sound (I play in a dart league on Tuesday nights). But reading both Sabres and Tampa fan sites, both teams' fans seem to think the broadcast was biased against their teams.

I thought it was a pretty even split to be honest. Though I really hate Milbury. Couldn't just give Jack props for playing well this year. Had to start out by saying he saw him at BU a bunch last year and that he looked very lazy at times.

Poker is as much of a game of psychology as anything else. And yes, it requires skill. I wasn't implying that at all. Every game involves some sort of strategy.
Either way, daily fantasy sports shouldn't be illegal in New York State.

Halfway through the rewind of last nights game. One of the biggest things I've noticed is that the team is playing so much smarter. The little dumps and chips around the boards or just out of the zone. Last year they would just blast it and get an icing.

They're still short on quality defenseman and DesLauriers and Girgs need to finish. Moulson is earning too much to be a power play specialist. He doesn't have the foot speed to be able to play with this team.

Since all the chips are in already, call up Ruhwedel.

Well, we all know Milbury is a dumbass put on the air simply for shock factor. People just need to learn not to take the bait.

I think the bigger change is that they aren't chipping the puck out at all. Instead, they are making creative little passes all over the ice and then busting arse up ice once they get into the clear. This is also why I didn't put too much stock into how people performed last year - the ice was constantly tilted toward our end and even good players can be made to look bad.

A game of poker is different than a hand of poker. Keep going all in on the 2, 9 and we'll see where all that skill gets you.

I think Nolan was just THAT clueless.. And I actually bought into the hype when they had a real nice 10 game stretch last year.

Gee, maybe there's a reason he's been out of work so many years.

Yes a BIG change from last year or even the past bunch of years. They used to just shoot the puck wherever and never near our players.

Remember when the sky fell after Mike Babcock decided to go to Toronto and we had to settle for Bylsma.

This system he has in place - a single aggressive and relentless forechecker, paired with second guy ALWAYS positioned somehow in the passing lane at the blue line, and great d-zone outlets - is working incredibly well with the talent and skill set possessed by this roster.

As they get more experience, familiarity and comfort with the way it works, if the Sabres can get healthy, and stay healthy, they are going to surprise many more teams than just the Lightening.
