and its not just him. rams selected every player acquired in the RGIII trade as captns when they played the redskins last year.

rex is out there and brings some of it on himself- but media also guilty of running with every little tidbit of info and blowing it into a story.

part of the reason it seems like its always rex is because hes one of the only ones who ever opens up and says anything that could be criticized. league/players/coaches are so tight lipped and boring that they never say anything in fear of what happens to rex.

It's way overblown. I have a number of criticisms of Rex Ryan. This isn't one of them.

Everyone thinks the Oilers shouldn't have won the lottery. The idea of the lottery is to prevent the same team from getting 4 first overall picks for ineptness. But don't let Oiler fans hear that or they'll come back at you with some holier than thou we weren't tanking so it's in some way karma. Even though they had horrific goaltending and defense from the onset of the season and they addressed it by acquiring Derek Roy.

its how edmonton got there 1st overall picks that bugs me. simply by finishing last got them hall unchallenged. Then we had a rule change when it came to the draft. Nj wins the 2011 draft lottery but bcz of dumb rule they can only move up to the 5th spot. Edmonton is awarded RNH. Then another rule change when it came to the draft. Edmonton now only has to compete with 4 other teams and has ~50% chance to win the draft lottery. Edmonton as a heavy favorite is awarded yakupov. Then a rule change. Now odds are slightly evened out. Edmonton doesnt win. So nhl makes another rule change and evens the odds out even more. Which works out perfectly for the 5 th place Edmonton. I just wish the nhl would have thought the draft through a little more and implemented only 1 well thought out rule change down the road rather than have 5 poorly thought out rule changes made immediately which just so happened to work out for 1 team.

The last update I had heard on him was the night they played Pittsburgh and they said he was back skating and they would have to wait and see but it was possible he could play soon. It's now been another week and a half so who the hell knows at this point.

EDIT: According to Yahoo Fantasy yesterday, there's still no timetable for his return. He didn't go on the trip but he's ramped up his skating compared to about 3 days ago.
