Let's not forget the Kane situation. There's still a chance he is moved in the offseason. TT could be that replacement on 2RW. I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'.

And honestly, TT is still young, there's a bunch of new faces on this team, the Q Blender is always swirling...let's give TT some time at LW and see if he can learn it. It's only been 15 games and he's already been moved around from RW to C to LW.

Can we wait until closer to the trade deadline, if he still hasn't completely learned and is still floating, then it might be time to either move him to C or RW permanently or perhaps trade. But you don't just give up on young talent like that.

Unless there's another incident Kane isn't going anywhere.

Ha!
Makes sense I guess, I know his wife/her family are from the area.

EDIT: Snap, don't worry about one-upping me -- I knew Soup sold his beautiful home in LP and never heard he bought elsewhere in the area. Guess he got tired of the red light/speed zone cameras and the explosion of tax increase.

What's the story behind the "Soupy" nickname again?

Agreed on giving TT more time to improve but let's not be silly Kane is too good right now to trade, we'd look very stupid if we moved him and most fans would riot.

I think the hawks have their solution to defense in house with TVR, Svedberg and Gustaffson and all they need is experience.
TVR may be a top four defenseman now and Svedberg may have the most upside long term
Just my $.02 and who knows how Daley will turn out

- molly2522

I feel the same. Many have been unfairly ostracized, which is very undeserving considering either their inexperience overall, or inexperience within the demands of the system which q expects them to play.

An interesting metamorphosis is occurring right under our nose. The kids ( who many said were undeserving and couldn't hold down the fort until Keith and the probably slower Rosy returned) are doing a very credible job. And even the new whipping boy Daley has been better.

All things considered, consider the structure, shape, and future prowess of this defensive corps compared to the beginning of the playoffs last year. Johnny O was good, but damn people, not the second coming of Doug Harvey.

Watch this defense grow and get better as the year progresses. A veteran defenseman? At what cost?

Depends on the return, but no.

If trading tt nets the Hawks jvr or Hamonic or another young cost controlled defenseman or maybe left wing then your moving him while value is still high while improving the team this year and next. More of a true hockey trade instead of us renting a player.

Snap, AFAIK, Soupy sold his Lincoln Park home and didn't re-buy. I know about the sale as his place isn't too far from where my daughters live. They passed by there all the time when he was a Hawk -- he still owned it for a while after his trade to Florida but he's been gone for about 2 yrs if memory serves me right.
- savvyone-1

Just say no to Campbell, Yes to Byfuglien. Need a big talented D-man that can shake things up when needed and provide offense when needed.

I liked Soupy when he was here but happy to see him go. Seemed overpaid for what he provided.

The hawks better go for the cup this year since Canada officially entered a recession as a result of oil prices and the housing bubble is bursting so the cap probably won't go up but may even go down.
After this year the hawks may not be able to afford to ten million dollar players

I love Kane but if the cap goes down the hawks may have to sell one of the ten million dollar men and with Kane you would be selling high with his play this year

At the time, the Hawks had to overpay to bring in quality NHL players. I liked Campbell, but for that price, I agree, it was too steep. He was going to get that type of contract from somebody that offseason. Also, Hawks never win the Cup in 2010 without Campbell either. Overpaid yes, but he did do a nice job and was a perfect defenseman for the Hawks transition style.

I just wanted to say thank you to a very special group of Americans-the brave men and women of our armed forces who have made the selfless and courageous decision to stand up to protect our country, our families, our rights, and freedoms. We owe each veteran a debt of gratitude and everlasting recognition for paying the ultimate sacrifice.

I said in the offseason. Kane is not going anywhere during the season. But, McD was peeved. REALLY peeved. I wouldn't put it past him after the season to at least kick the tires on a trade. Not saying it would happen, but it could. And if it does happen, TT is your 2RW.

From the tweets, it looks like Garbutt, Tikhonov, and Runblad are the "men without a team" at practice today.
