Eggs, will come back to your question tonight...

Guru, did you see what miller said after he gave up the game winning goal on a shot from the blue line with about 15 seconds left? makes what Elliott did seem like complete nothing imho.

Saw another goalie do it last night on NHL on the fly. Really with these guys would stop with the hands up in the air gesture. smack the pads or do something else so it least can be construed as being mad at yourself as well.

Speaking of the hawks

Their captain fought a smaller player so he is a douchebag goon right?

Had nothing to do with the Hawks needing something to fire them up

- sycsam

No comp to Backes douchebaggery and the smaller player was hardly that much smaller.

Was Henrique coming off a concussion? Was he a rookie? Was Toews 30lbs heavier? Good, fair fight.

Couldn't help notice the comment about Jackman earlier. Amazing how some acknowledge what a player is when he changes sweaters. After Backes is gone and starts running Tarasenko hypocrites like you may begin admitting what a lowlife Backes is on the ice.

i saw rinne do the samething after seth jones screened him a bit.

i have not heard what miller did or said. but that is just being a bad teammate in my opinion.

rarely is something in hockey solely one guy's fault. no one is perfect so blaming other people even if most of it is their fault is not taking responsibility. i think such things break trust down and create discord.

i get it goalies have a tough position and often get hung out to dry. but what i would want from a teammate is something like hey when this happens you need to do this and it will help me do this. communicate positively. i have had teammates who were terrible and everyone knew they were terrible including themselves. but none of them grow or get any better when you dog them. also you are needlessly hurting a person. often if you take the time with them you get better results.

but the thing is with rinne last night and elliott the other night they failed to make some saves you would expect them to make some of the time if not most of the time even if they were good scoring chances.

IHMO, only because of the injuries to Stastny and Schwartz. If all are healthy, I think it's a long trial run before heading back to jr.
- stljam

i think this is a mistake. no reason to rush this decision.

with a full healthy roster he will sit more often than not if he does not grow into his role more.

again i am not saying he is not good enough, i think he needs a bit more strength. i sure hope he finds a way.

to me he is like schwartz but schwartz was stronger from day one and he struggled initially. when he got even stronger then he was a really good player. but come play offs schwartz did not take the heat well last year. he is already a more rounded player than fabbri and stronger. what will happen to fabbri in the play offs? if we go by past instances with tarasenko one year and schwartz the next he will watch the games so maybe it is not a factor.

That logic is solid. So, does the third line look like Fabbri/ Gomez/ Havlat going forward? I don't recall how good of a two-way player Havlat is. He never struck me as all that talented at the 200 foot game...

Current lines?

Steen/ Lehtera/ Tarasenko
Paajarvi or Jaskin /Backes/ Brouwer
Fabbri/ Gomez/ Havlat or Paajarvi or Jaskin?
Upshall/ Broadziak/ Reaves

If Fabbri is going to stay, I'd kinda like to see him play with Backes and Brouwer. That would give him the maximum amount of space...

- eggsegan

i agree fabbri looks better on a line with bigger players. putting all small players on a line i think is bad when they get hemmed in their zone.

this pretty much then spells magnus's career as a blue i guess. which is a shame as he looks better. he is battling more and looks a lot stronger on the boards. it is just a matter of time and he would lose the fear of being benched or sent down and we could truly see where his game is at.

uh we always acknowledged what jackman was even in a blues sweater. i know what backes is and he isn't that bad. i hate shaw but i respect his role and ability. but i do not whine about him all the time even though he gets under my skin and i am just a fan.

in all these instances it is not like any of these guys raped a girl and then hired a lawyer who suggested she was a gold digger and was asking for it.

- BluemanGuruu

We? Is that the royal "we" or have you appointed yourself Blues nation spokesperson? Plenty of others defended Jackman.

I don't even see the Shaw stuff any longer. He has toned it down a lot. He can bring some nasty when things get more intense in later rounds of the playoffs but Backes OBVIOUSLY cannot use that as an excuse.

Kane must have also rented another person's DNA too. Amazing what money can buy these days. You're not getting the suspension you wished for... Get over it.

6 pounds heavier and 2 inches taller.

Adam Henrique
Weight: 6' 0"
Weight: 195

Jonathan Toews
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 201

Yep, that's comparable.

So sick of Hawks fans saying the Blues are dirty because they're more physical than the Hawks. The Hawks have had, if my count is correct, 12 suspensions in the past five season, whereas the Blues have had 3. Every player has a made a dirty play or two when they're trying to get the game going, but there's a big difference between physicality and intent to injure.

I've seen the same Hawks fans who complain about Backes or Reaves or whoever, post "wakey, wakey" all over the Blues' pages. These fans are quick condemn the play of a team more physical than the Hawks, but condone blatantly dirty hits with intent to injure. I try to be respectful of fans of other teams, even when they're running their mouths or bashing the Blues, but lately it seems the hypocrisy of Hawks fans knows no bounds.

By the way, I bet you cheered when this happened: http://youtu.be/pD53p3PUeqw

Your talk of douchebaggery screams of homerism. You'd love to have Backes on your team, just like you like Shaw, loved Probert, and probably think Chris Chelios never looked for cheap shots on the other team's best players.

havlat isn't a completely one dimensional player from what I remember, just very injury prone.

will be interesting to see how the lines play out

Had Henrique just thrown an elbow at another players head when Toews went after him? People whine about Backes tackling MacKinnon, but ignore the multiple cheap shots Mackinnon took that game. Mac deserved to get a pounding, instead he just got tackled because Backes doesn't want to turn into a scumbag like Seabrook or Keith who actually injure players.

Blackhawks fans might be the biggest hypocrites in sports. Their team is one of the worst offenders in the league for suspension level hits, but they whine constantly about stuff that is allowed and part of the game happening to their team.
